Ramsey Jov
A Synthetic of the Fifth Generation, Ramsey holds a Communications Degree from the LOT, but has not secured any notable employment. He currently manages a small computer manufacturing team in the High Square, but such jobs are expected to be moved to Coal Island, once telecomputer technology is mass produced.

Ramsey first appears in Chapter 2 of Book 1, sleeping under a blanket in Minerva Jov's guest office in the Massacari Building. He first speaks at the Tempus Fujiato Memorial Amphetheater, where he and Prospertine are working security for a mayoral speech. The two of them discuss art and politics. They later cross paths at the Tartarisium, where they discuss relationships. Shortly afterward, they visit Jovannan the Wise, who indirectly compels them to pursue a pair of terrorists named Gretta and Kaz. Prospertine quickly abandons Ramsey, however, stealing his retrobike and chasing the terrorists herself.
The pair next meet during a double date, where they discuss politics again. Afterward, Ramsey rejoins Prospertine's pursuit of the terrorists.
Ramsey is not physically present in Book 2, though he appears frequently in Prospertine's memories.

Prospertine has become sympathetic to the terrorist's cause, however, and their cousin Minerva Jov sends the whitehounds after them, nearly killing them both and resulting in Prospertine's exile. Prospertine flees the whitehounds, abandoning Ramsey again.

BOOK 2 - Prospertine: EquinoxThe pair last meet at Ramsey's home, where he cleans her clothes, offers some refuel, and gives her his retrobike, in order to aid her escape from the City of Light.

BOOK 3 - Prospertine: Ramsey & the Winter BloomAt the end of "Equinox," Prospertine briefly speaks to Ramsey via Minerva Jov's mechanical owl drone. During their brief discussion, Ramsey reveals that the peace treaty between Midianar and Argosy resulted in the betrayal and mass murder of the Midianari.
