Commonly called "Syns," Synthetics are artificially-created humans, grown by Firmament in their underground Compound. The brainchild of Jovannan the Wise, Syns are renowned for their uniquely high compatibility with Lyne tattoos.
Syns typically grow up to occupy valuable positions in Vesper, though such success is by no means guaranteed.
