Géfyra

Géfyra is the only known planet in the Lost Sector to be known to call it home. Some say that it was formed from the mystical nebula that surrounds everything here, which is why its power resonates with and reaches to every corner of its space. It is an extremely large planet that spins from west to east. The north of the planet is tilted mostly away from The Dancing Suns. Due to this the north of the planet is mostly cold, whereas the south is extremely hot.   It is home to many original species and races, and has many others besides that are visiting from other planets or universes. However there are a vast number of humans that live on this world as, not only do many call Géfyra home, but a large number of universes and worlds have humans in them that have found themselves stolen away to this place.   While there is such diverse range of peoples on the world, Géfyra seems to have been the birthplace of Latin, which has evolved over time in major civilizations into some sort of Pseudo-Latin that contains some mashed up words from many other languages. This Neo-Latin is widely accepted as the common way to converse across the globe by most civilizations looking to communicate with others. Make no mistake though, language can still be a barrier in many places, and not speaking the local language can be a glaringly obvious sign of an outsider or tourist.

Geography

The poles of the planet are actually extremely hot due to the way Géfyra’s Phoenix Cycle. They are like bowls filled with a magma wasteland that turns from a reef of stone around the rim where it reaches the ocean, to liquid magma in the center where it is the hottest.   There are a few major geographical features of the world that are worth mentioning other than the main 13 continents of Bellus, Calva, Canto, Corusco, Dignitas, Draconia, Eremus, Glaciem, Macellarius, Silvatet, Tempestus, Truncatis, and Vivarium.   The Cold Snap that wraps around the northern half of the globe in a strip of frozen tundra, parallel to The Fissure that is the equator of Géfyra. Then there is The Shimmering Sea, which is the largest expanse of mostly empty ocean on the planet.

Natural Resources

Other than most materials and minerals that can be found in one form or another on different planets (Metals, stones, elements, etc.) Fiss Shards are the main unique natural resources that occur on Géfyra. They are similar to the naturally grown crystals found in geodes, but can grow to be massive in size. The color of the shard represents the type of energy that it can hold that is emitted from the nebula of The Lost Sector . They are used for everything from technology to a resource for magic in the world.
