The Lighting of the Forge Document in Fyria | World Anvil

The Lighting of the Forge

She took the tome in hand, gifted to her by her beloved after his return from a realm beyond. It was one she was intrinsically familiar with, as most were. It was a copy of The Lighting of the Forge, a short tome that told the story of how the world was formed in the fires of Eeavarins forge. Some say she wrote the stories herself. She opened the leather bound cover and tears began to fall from her eyes as she read the handwritten note, "May the world's forge be ever lit, may those who seek it be wise in its use." And she knew it was writing of a god.

Purpose

It is a religious document that tells the tale of the creation of the world and is meant to espouse the words and wisdom of Eeavarin and their tenets. Told through a series of stories spoken both from the viewpoint of the goddess and of her follows the words within the book are meant to assuage non-believers and new believers of the proper tenants of Eeavarin and why it is important to commit fully to her.

Historical Details

Background

No one knows when exactly the book was penned, some say it was written by the goddess Eeavarin herself. Some say it is just a collection of stories about the god and their tenets compiled over many many years. However what is clear is that almost everyone seems to remember a story or two being read to them as children, from as far back as time can tell this has been the case. It is a significant book across the land, throughout most of Fyria. Especially those devoted to Eeavarin as it is used as one of the churches tools used in teaching its dogmas.
