Abandoned in Claddeau
General Summary
16th of Early Vibrant, 1723
The party finds themselves in their carriage having fallen down a hillside after an arrow had struck their ride's horse. Next came the dead bodies of Valencian blethers and nivallen from a gruesome fight. Inside the village of Claddeau, it was baren where only a few bodies littered the streets. However, they did find three sources of light within the town: the governor's mansion, the warehouse, and the lighthouse.
Exploring the warehouse, the party found Professor Savatier and Scritch the kenku hiding behind boxes while a blether and nivallen fought to the death.
In the lighthouse were two nivallen sitting about, relieved that the party wasn't nivallen to have found them there. They informed them that a terrible necromancer had taken and intimidated the local nivallen tribe into submission. Carric, the male nivallen, wanted a compromise with the Valencians that they wanted their help clearing out the cave, just not getting carried away with purging the entirety of the nivallen for revenge.
At the governor's mansion, the party discovered that it had become a base of operations for the Valencians. Captain Falkovian insisted that they get a kenku that worked with the governor for details about a conversation that happened. They would also need a guide to the lair, as they have no clues to its location. When Scritch arrived, it was revealed that a necromancer had bargained with Governor Marmont about reviving the citizens to the point of reversing the nivallen attacks. Of course, this being too good to be true, the governor declined.
The nivallen from the lighthouse guided both the party and Valencians to the lair, where Overseer Arnivok was ordered by a strange figure with two horns that had orbs glimmering give the order to kill these intruders.
Once defeated, it was revealed to be the workings of the Nox Orthodoxy while also removing the nivallen attacks along the roadways. The party now has received a letter from an Oswin Mandus requesting their assistance for protection from a threat.
