Metal Sheep
Beginning
It all started when Andrej started his own band with his own friends. Andrej, Jure, Simon and Tadej joined to start the band JURE! and the others. But, as you may notice, Nina is not one of the people in the band. Andrej’s sister always admired him and wanted to be a part of everything he did, and she for the most part was. Until now. He and the others all seemed to have some good fun with their band, and Nina wanted to be a part of that too. Clearly the boys had their own band, so there was only one thing for her to do - start her own band.
And so, Nina sought out help from her BFF Tim and his boyfriend Cereal Killer. Tim already learnt to play piano as part of his drag queen training, Cereal Killer was taking guitar lessons back in East T@Ö#Å3, and Nina herself learnt to play drums back in high school, when she was still trying to get Tadej to date her. With all this, they already had a good potential to start the band.
Old Metal Sheep
From the beginning, with this original lineup, Metal Sheep was a heavily experimental band. They never quite made it into the mainstream as JURE! and the others did, but they did have a lot of fun and came up with some creative projects. They seem to have been creative enough to earn them a Golden Bald Mermaid Award in 1-XXI, though some people didn’t think that was completely deserved. They were alway seen as one of those bands where their fans were more interested in the fact that there were two girls in it, or at least what they thought were two girls. Though it was never really a secret, many then believed or at least chose to believe that Tim was a girl as well. He was close enough anyway.
But that’s not to say they didn’t come up with some notable achievements. One such in particular is the invention of ukulele screamo that one time when Nina bought herself a ukulele. She never did quite learn how to play it, but true experimental art transcends the mainstream conventions. If people didn’t understand the band’s work because it didn’t fit into their idea of conventional music, that’s really only their problem.
New Metal Sheep
As time went on, Metal Sheep continued to do their thing, while JURE! and the others slowed down a bit. Andrej got distracted by other plans while Simon was never the one to want to be in the spotlight like this. Meanwhile Jure and Tadej were still very much interested to keep the band going, but with half of the band not being there, they had to come up with a new plan. Actually, they didn’t need to think too long and hard, as Nina was more than happy to accept her into Metal Sheep.
With all this going on, Tina who was only new to the family when the both bands had already started, wanted in on the action too. She used to have her own punk band back in the day, and now it was a good time to join a band again.
The band now had a brand new lineup, brand new people with fresh ideas, and an opportunity to reinvent themselves. With this many people, each with their own ideas there is no saying what might happen next. What we do know though is that they already made some of their new songs, with rather strange themes.
But one of their most notable works might just be the collaboration with Dirt Snake, DANGER COMIC itself. It’s mainly a danger music piece focusing or more or less dangerous and strange scenarios.
