XXI. Storming the Hall of the Fire Giants

General Summary

A coalition made up of Frost Giants led by Yrsa Trollsbane and Orcs led by Vy'Thek (and supported by Shugluk Elf-Butcher) met outside the fortress of King Snurre. The party planned to stormed the entrance with the assembled army, but as they began to charge it became clear that Snurre was expecting them. Scores of soldiers were mown down by huge cannons the giants had installed within the walls of the fortress. Charging the bridge, the party forced their way through the giants standing guard but were quickly hounded down by giants holding the front line behind them. Overwhelmed by the giant forces, the party ran for the front entrance of the fortress but were unable to find a way inside. Baui used the Marvelous Pigments to first create a hole in the wall just big enough for the party to fit through, and then to cause a malfunction in the door mechanism to prevent the giants from opening the door and following them in. Once inside, the party stood face to face with a shield fire giant.
