Princess of the Singing Wood

Kohinoor Sattari is a princess of the Singing Wood and a Paladin of the Crown of the Stalic Empire. She is the eldest daughter of Grand Princess Shahnaz of the Singing Wood and Prince Jahan Sattari.   A tall, brown-skinned woman with a mole on her right cheek and knee-length, curly, dark hair.

Personal History

Youth

Princess Kohinoor was trained from birth to take on her father’s role as paladin of the Stalic Empire. She considered it a great honor and a grave responsibility to uphold her family legacy in this way. She began her martial training at age seven, when she became a page. When she was fourteen, she began serving as her father's squire.   Though she would likely never rule, Jahan impressed on her his ideals of how a good ruler should act. He told her about all the things he had seen as a young man; how cruel the world--and people, especially those in positions of power, could be. He told her her purpose was to make the world a better place. Kohi took these messages to heart.   While Kohinoor always idolized her parents, the same could not be said for those around her. Throughout her childhood, Kohinoor became used to being disliked and treated with suspicion despite all her best efforts, as it was a common conception that, as a half-human and as Paladin of the Empire, she represented foreign influences at court--her father's influences. Those who disapproved of her mother's policies often talked openly about them in Kohi's presence.

The Giant Threat

Kohinoor received summons from Iorvus Great-Dane to take up arms against Giants that threatened the Empire. When she answered the summons, she was surprised to find that her younger sister Alizeh had followed her to the campground and insisted on staying with her to the end. Kohinoor acquiesced and the two of them joined Achilla, the Shield of Ivargrad, Tharduin Oakheart, Ubba Uthred, Devaughn Lightpaw, and Gault Harrow in their quest against the giants.   Kohinoor was almost killed on the first day of this mission when she was knocked unconscious by a Behir, but she was saved through the combined efforts of Tharduin, Alizeh, and Gault, who gave his life to allow the rest to escape safely. This sacrifice would have a strong effect on Kohinoor for the remainder of the quest.   While the party stormed the fortress of the Fire Giant King Snurre, several members of the group died, including Alizeh. Regen Wakerock, another companion and a cleric of Egar, was able to resurrect almost all those who had died. During the resurrection ritual, Kohinoor meditated for several hours came out of her trance with the powers of a cleric of peace, devoted to protecting her friends.

Recent Events

After their quest was complete, Kohinoor became an Imperial Dignitary to the free city of Felstadt. While there, she joined up with the Ring & Wren to aid Regen and his cousin Jäger Ironbeard in retaking their home, the Iron Islands, from Jäger's brother Roak Ironbeard and the god Dhor.   Now she has traveled with the party to Primordius Mons in the hope of collecting a shard of the Astral Diamond.
