Ironfrost Peaks
The Ironfrost Peaks rise like jagged spires against the sky, their frozen summits crowned with eternal ice and their valleys buried beneath thick drifts of snow. To the south, the slopes give way to alpine forests, where hardy beasts roam and bitter winds carve through narrow passes. But as one ascends, the world hardens into an unforgiving expanse of ice and stone, a realm where only the strongest—or the most cunning—survive.
Among these towering peaks dwell the Chuti, their fortress-like dwellings carved directly into the mountains, hidden among cliffs and caves where few outsiders dare tread. Towering at eight feet tall, their white-maned forms blend seamlessly into the blizzards, their insulated bodies granting them dominion over the cold. Fiercely territorial and unyielding, the Chuti have little tolerance for intrusion—their mere presence is enough to deter the foolish. Their days are spent in meditation, subsistence hunting, and fortifying their hidden strongholds, bound together by an unspoken code of endurance and self-reliance.
Yet even the Chuti are not the undisputed masters of these peaks. Frost drakes stalk the mountain heights, their wide, clawed feet allowing them to burrow effortlessly through the snow before launching ambushes with terrifying precision. Their presence alone shapes life in the mountains, forcing even the Chuti to build their strongholds with defense in mind. Though drakes rarely descend beyond their glacial hunting grounds, when they do, devastation follows.
The Ironfrost Peaks remain untouched by the wars and politics of the lower world. They are a land of harsh beauty and silent resilience, where the wind howls through ice-laden valleys and the mountains test all who would claim them. The few who traverse these peaks—hunters, exiles, desperate wanderers—quickly learn that strength alone is not enough. Here, in the frozen heart of the world, patience, endurance, and wisdom are the only true currency.
