Bryndffolk Tribes (BRIND-folk)

Bryndffolk are a people with a primal, elemental bond with the land of Fahr Ryasc. They divide themselves among three tribes and those subdivide themselves among Clans. They have a strong cultural pride on having never been conquered, and remain fiercely independent.
The connection between the Bryndffolk and the elements are spiritual rather than hereditary. Which means that the Element a newborn child presents is not determined by their parents, but is an expression of where the land of Fahr Ryasc pulled their soul from. Thus two Kharian Tonna can give birth to an Karrak child, or a Kymru Karrak and a Kæl Fflam can have an Ganigen child. Still, there remain cultural and social biases surrounding which element an individual presents depending on which nation they live in. Such biases also contribute to the deep-seeded rivalries among the nations (in addition to the more commonplace factors like regions, language, and tradition).

Naming Traditions

Unisex names

Most Bryndish names are unisex. The Bryndffolk as a whole make few gender distinctions. However, there are a few names that are associated with one gender or the other because of a particularly revered or famous individual. "Arcu" was a great Righ (King/Queen) of the realm of Bheregh in Kharia, because Arcu was a woman, for generations after many Khorian girls were also named Arcu.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Bryndffolk speak a common language, Bryndish. Each nation speaks a regional dialect - Kymric, Kælic, and Kharish and each Tuath speaks a localized dialect. A speaker of one can understand another, but differences in accents and words can identify a native speaker, or cause miscommunication.

Culture and cultural heritage

The Bryndffolk share a common faith in the teachings of the Druí Rath Mohr, the society of Druids.
The Bryndffolk also have a common tradition of extending Hospitality to travelling bards, and the Ganigen Brynd of any Tribe, Clan or Tuath.

Shared customary codes and values

Bryndffolk society across all three nations starts with the clan, and builds from the Clan to Tuath (petty kingdom) and from there to the Rheæg. In some ages, a legendary ruler, the Aírdrigh rises to unite all three Bryndffolk nations into an Aírheæg to confront a threat to all the Bryndffolk.

Art & Architecture

The Bryndffolk of all nations build circles of standing stones as places of worship and to mark the natural currents of magic that flow throughout Fahr Ryasc.

Common Myths and Legends

The Bryndffolk share an oral history among themselves through the Colaisht nam'Bard. Among them is the legend of the Aírdrigh, a mythic High King who, in times of danger to the whole of the Bryndffolk arrives to unite all the Rheæg and deliver the Land.

Ganigen Brynd are considered lucky, and having one as a guest brings good fortune to the Hall where they visit.

The Bryndffolk, through the Druí Rath Mohr worship a pantheon of Gods native to Fahr Ryasc, consisting of the Greenlife, Awainn the Hornking,
