Pique

The mountainous, gray, and frigid land of Pique is militaristic in the extreme. Its monarchy is a meritocracy, the austere iron crown won in a trial by combat. From Pique Citadel, the monarch commands the feared Gray Armada and Army, in which all Piquish citizens must serve. Some isolated communities of goliath and other races hardy enough to live in the Saoghail mountains avoid this, but on the whole, those born here should expect to be trained and conscripted at an early age.
