Tervir Species in Eyila | World Anvil

Tervir

The Tervir are the Vir who claimed the eastern side of Amalar when the Pimvir split. They used to roam the plains as nomads, fighting the Silvir whenever they came into contact, but now they live in the depths of Amalar's underground cave systems, avoiding contact with all other races.

Civilization and Culture

History

When the original three Pimvir tribes split off, the Tervir were one of the two that settled in the south. While the Silvir took the forests, the Tervir claimed the plains and rocky outcroppings. Always being in the open, under the sun, gave them darker skin, and they gained muscular, large figures from walking across the plains and hills. They learned to fight head-on, charging for their enemies with blades, and using technology to flush out their rivals.   After the Silvir began to use magic, the Tervir attempted to counteract it with technology, but they weren't advanced enough to withstand the attacks. They captured some Silvir soldiers and forced them to teach them the ways of magic. Instead of channeling it through their bodies, their "souls," they channeled it through minerals forged into their armor. This meant they had more endurance when it came to casting, though they couldn't cast the most powerful spells.   Then the humans arrived. The Tervir refused to unite with the Silvir against them, instead choosing to stay out of the way while the Silvir fought. After the Silvir were nearly eradicated, the Tervir yielded to the humans without any trouble. They were then exiled underground, and have remained there since.
