Trisam

The largest city in Osirin and the capital of the Varin Empire.   It is home to the Varin Royal Family as well as many of the continent's higher class.

Government:

  The city is governed by King Daelin Varin and his Royal Council. Additionally the Church of Apostasy has a strong presence in Trisam as well as many powerful noble houses.

Defence:

  The streets are patrolled by the Red Guard, the local law enforcement. A Barracks of the Empirical Army can be found in the Military Ward of the city. Trisam also holds a large number of Faithguard, the Church’s personal militia. The Goldguard can also be found stationed at the Rise, the elite guard of the Royal Family.

Commerce:

  Trisam is the largest city in Osirin with massive amounts of trade coming in and out of the city. Most of any goods or services can be found within the city walls.

Geography:

  The city is built on the southern coast of Osirin. Thick stone walls encompass the city, with many watchtowers dotted along the walls. The city's outskirts are filled with acres of farmland and small rural communities that provide food for the Capital. The south of the city is a large open port, the walls themselves extending outward into the sea leaving a small opening for ships, known as the Mouth of Trisam. The city itself is made up of seven major districts: The Castle Court, the Market Quarter, The Military Ward, The Eastern Cobbles, Port Town, the Western Slums and the Outer Slums.

The Castle Court:

Located at the centre of Trisam, walled in by an internal wall is the Castle Court. This is home to many noble families as well as most of the city's high end businesses and establishments. It is also the location of the Rise. Sometimes called the Kings Rise, this large monolith sits in the centre of the Castle Court, atop this rock lies the Royal Palace, Castle Rexus, as well as the treasury, the King’s Bastion (home to the royal guard) and a couple of high noble houses.

The Market Quarter:

Located in the north east of the city is the Market Quarter. The district is centred around a large open plaza surrounded by many of the city's businesses as well as the location of a public garden.

The Military Ward:

Located in the northern quarter of the city is the Military Ward, the location of the barracks, the local prison, training grounds, as well as many homes.

The Eastern Cobbles:

Located in the southeast of the city is the Eastern Cobbles, the largest district in the city and home to the majority of the population. Dozens of smaller streets branch off major roads to create a labyrinth of twisting neighbourhoods, Among which streets, shops, inns, and various forms of facilities can be found.

Port Town:

Located at the south of the city is Port Town. This part of the city is mostly taken up by the harbour, it is the location of many sea based businesses, warehouses as well as many cheap taverns and inns.

The Western Slums:

Located in the west of the city is the Western Slums, a sprawling maze of muddy roads, connecting businesses, workhouses and factories.

The Outer Slums:

Just outside the western walls of the city are the Outer Slums. This is the home of the poorest denizens of Trisam. It is mostly a sprawl of ramshackled buildings built alongside the road into Trisam.
