Nirilux Stormeater
Nirilux Stormeater is one of the ten remaining True Dragons of Illiria, and the last remaining blue dragon. He is lord and sovereign master of the Wyvern Gate, a community built around his lair in the Dead Drop Cliffs of the Arid. He counts a good portion of the Zawal Dunes as his hunting grounds. Nirilux insists on rigorous order in his domain, and as a result the city of Wyvern Gate is extremely well organized and designed logically for function over form, though like all dragons Stormeater appreciates aestheticism. There is an eternal storm that surrounds the Wyvern Gate, and unwelcome guests are frequently killed by random lightning strikes.
Stormeater is sleek and thinner than other True Dragons, built almost like a serpent with legs. His blue scales shimmer like sapphires when exposed to firelight. His scales are so small and compact that they resemble those of a fish and are hard to make out from a distance. He has blue spikes running down the length of his spine and two massive horns growing out of his head straight upward like an oryx. The humanoid form of Nirilux Stormeater is that of a Zawalite female with especially dark skin, small stature, and wiry build. There is no indication that in this form Nirilux is actually a dragon save for a pair of impossibly bright blue eyes that seem to behave like a camera's lens when examining something. When in Elven form, Stormeater does go by feminine addresses. When in this form, Stormeater is known to enjoy engaging in larceny and is rumored to work with the Iron Shadow in exchange for protection in his dread domain.
Nirilux is an especially skilled dragon-mage with an affinity for evocation magic that deals with lightning, and is the one True Dragon that truly enjoys practicing mortal arcane magic. He used Living Spells and elementals to patrol his domain inside of his eternal storm and report on the movements of all mortals within. He painstakingly maintains Contingency Runes that prevent sandstorms, earthquakes, and other natural disasters from disturbing his mortal servants and worshippers. Conversely, his horde and personal lair are constantly under the effects of an eternal sandstorm and lightning, such that glass is created within and lashes out at the uninvited.
Stormeater can conjure large amounts of water at will, and keeps an oasis in the center of Wyvern Gate that contains the cleanest, most refreshing and cold water in all The Arid. Using this oasis however comes at the cost of service to the dragon, so travelers in the area are advised to carry their own water rather than end up an eternal servant of Nirilux. Anyone that serves the dragon or even lives in Wyvern Gate find themselves over time needing less water to survive, and slowly gaining a sense of need to serve the Stormeater. Children born in Wyvern Gate more often than not gain the dragon's ability to mimic any voice it hears.
Nirilux is a demanding taskmaster, but is known to reward those who serve him well quite generously. The favored of these are offered a position in his harem, which comes with a home, servants, and a significant stipend of gold and jewels. Those who refuse the offer are instead given positions of power within the structure of Wyvern Gate, overseeing other servants of the dragon and pointing out those who perform poorly, or exceptionally well. He is fond of music and employs several musicians as full-time performers. Half-Dragons begotten of Nirilux are not allowed to leave Wyvern Gate and are encouraged to make their homes deep underneath the cliffs for protection. Stormeater always gives his children a full tenth of his horde including servants if they agree to live below his lair forever.
Stormeater can breath lightning so powerful that it can create a storm at his will, and his name comes from his ability to consume electricity and store it for discharge later. He can do this in Dragon or Elf forms. He is also capable of making water disappear as easily as he can conjure it, a fact that Dunnite and Bazir nomads remember well when it comes time to pay the dragon his tribute.
