True Dragon
True Dragons are magical creatures defined by their four legs, two wings, and long serpentine bodies. They are inherently linked to magic. Each True Dragon is capable of casting spells, and their access to this natural magic gets more powerful as they age. True Dragons never stop growing, though this growth gets exponentially slower as they age. In addition to sorcery, True Dragons all have breath weapons, the ability to polymorph into humanoids, and are naturally immune to various elements. The mere presence of a dragon over an extended period of time causes magical phenomena, such as the birth of sorcerers or instances of mana storms.
As of the founding of the Second Empire, there are only ten True Dragons left known to exist. The Dragon War of 198 left these last ten, all males, the only surviving members of their species and directly subservient to the Empire of Evermore. Before the destruction of dragonkind, True Dragons tended to own large swaths of land inhabited by mortals subservient to them. The war also rendered much of Draconic civilization lost, including the secrets behind Living Spells, Contingency Runes, and Dracoconvergence.
