Hierophant Palace

The Haimarchy built the Heirophant Palace 7 millenia ago as a leyline and emitter of Meta power. It is one for the four Palaces on Jhoutai, and while its original purpose as a broadcasting location of the Sovereign's power is no longer needed, it remains standing and venerated, reaching up thousands of feet in a spire atop a floating chunk of land.

When the Sazashi Revolution happened, the Shejlt-Rajh took the palace of their own and turned it into the habitated palace of the Grandmaster of Light. In accordance to Rajhska they did not exhume the bodies of Verin nobility living there, but neither did they allow the Verin to access the site for religious reasons.

The Palace doubles as a military stronghold for the Shejlt, and in all the years for which Valuser'rh reigned, it is a location they have never lost.

The Autumn Throne

The Autumn Throne is the name for the massive, ornate, floating throne located in the center of the palace. It doubles as an elevator, taking the Grandmaster of Light from ground level to peak. At ground level they can interact with their subjects, but once they move to the tip of the palace's spire, the entire building becomes a wand for their power, allowing them to multiply the intensity of their spells. The most notable case of this was during Aempis' independance, when the Palace was flown over Khatoum.

Storms rolled and roiled around the palace, grey clouds bubbling like froth on a cauldron. The roll of thunder was so constant and consistent that it sounded like the distant fire of cannons at pace of gunfire.

The Autumn Throne faded up through the clouds and out of sight, and those of us in the streets began to scatter in fear, uncertain of what to expect next.

Here and there we saw the tower backlit by lightning as it drifted higher and higher. I hunkered low in my home, watching the storm only secondhand through my outdoor security cameras.

After a painful eternity of wait, it came. The temperature plummeted and I felt the breath and meta drawn from my body as the palace absorbed all of the meta in the region.

Night lit up as day, and the clouds vaporized all at once a beam of light cam rushing down in the distance. A brilliant flash of white followed, a mushroom cloud rose, and I never saw again. The sight of that final nuclear explosion burned into my retinas and burned them away.

Summary

Rennovations

Many stairwells and ramps were removed to make sections of the palace only accesible to those who can levitate. In their minds: if you cannot levitate, you do not belong there.

The Meissner-Field plates of Sunmetal along the bottom of the skyland on which the Palace stands has been retrofitted to allow it to leave the crater it was originally confined.

The Palace is fully sealed reinforced so that it can fly into space.

The Palace has been retrofitted with numerous terraformation towers—it can construct and destruct mountains in a course of days, to say nothing of what it can do in a starfight.
