Post-Twilight Accords
History:
Springbob's Gadget Emporium was once the highlight of Twiddlewyren a broad marketplace whose wares spanned the entirety of the Gnomish Trade Network, Old World Artificers Network and a large portion of the Human Trade Network. Housed in the Twilight District of the city, in its heyday it was the premiere location for new and innovative technologies and magic, in present-day however it is a shadow of its former greatness. Due to the incident that occurred that saw the destruction of not only the Twilight District but the neighboring residential area of Dawnsmead. This would have been considered a strictly Gnomish internal matter if not for the disappearance of a Tabaxi research team, human bankers, and Dwarfen diplomats that were visiting the disctrict that same day. When the story hit the papers, outrage was inevitable. A summit was called in Pra'Shad where new standards for untested Gnomish technology and arcana would be set. Paying homage to the area that was lost, the Post-Twilight Accords was signed limiting the areas where novel gnomish inventions could be tested. Approved sites are listed as:- Orc Vein Trench
- Yeti Pointe
- Pious Reach
- Bugbear Reach
- DamesPort
- Driftguard
- Deadlanding
Excerpt: Preamble of the Testing of Arcana Novus
The advent of the division of arcana and technologies has emerged as a cardinal driver of heightened production levels in Gnomish culture, surpassing all other factors. This amelioration is more pronounced for economies with expanded industrialization and advancement, and has been accredited with the achievement of "cooperative opulence" in these regions. As Humans and Dwarves have benefited from advancements we recognize their importance in the marketplace.
However, it is no longer tenable to bear the risk of untested paraphernalia without appropriate safeguards in place. This stance is in line with prudent financial management and the need to effectively mitigate risk exposure.
