Pious Reach

History:

Though it is fertile territory it remains unclaimed due to the Reverent Pact signed by the leader of nearly every faith. As every major faith has a relevant myth, legend or folklore that involves this particular island. Much study has gone into why the major religions all seem to point towards this area. Thus much of the tourism to this island is oriented towards research and understanding.
As the Pact is the only legally binding document enforceable on the island, which clearly states "no military may establish permanent fortified structures on the island." This has made research team and their encampments vulnerable to raiders, though less and less since the pact was amended to allow lethal force in response to any individual or group who attacks research teams.

Active Research Teams:

The Metallurgist Exploration Corps (Dwarven/Tabaxi) - Currently mining for a rare type of Everore that is said to possess qualities, unlike standard Everore.
The Uriyran Partnership (Genasi/Elf/Goblin) - Currently studying the strange fauna located on this island, and despite its low elevation is the first recorded finding of Alta flowers which still bloom there to this day.
Horizoneers Collaborative (Human/Gnomish) - Tidal forces which affect trade routes in the area behave in a rather strange manner and not according to any mapped or documented study.

Defunct Research Teams:

Gnomish Council Forward Team (Gnomish/Halflings) - One of the few collaborative efforts between the Halflings and other cultures, partnering with the gnomes they sought to settle on Pious Reach but as the Revernt Pact was finalized talks of permanent settlement were quashed.

Northern Espen Trade Alliance - NETO (Dwarves, Humans, Goblins) - Pious Reach was once considered an excellent spot for a massive trade hub. But when scout teams were dispatched they were met with considerable hostilities by the Genasi who saw such encroachment this close to Vitalinas as a prelude to another attack. After months of skirmishes in which NETO suffered 86% of the losses that idea and research team was abandoned.
The Black Archivist Guild (Tabaxi/Orcs) - With security provided by the BOSC, the Tabaxi ventured into Pious Reach though their goal was never made clear, the group disbanded after 13 years of research into aspects of the island, no official report was ever released on their studies.
