The Thieves Guild
CODE OF CONDUCT* If any member of the guild placed in jail, never mention the Guild.
* the Guild has an obligation to free any jailed members.
* If a guild is in a plot or undertaking a job for the Guild, no other Guild member can interfere, unless requested to by the person in charge, or a member higher in rank than that person, within the Guild.
* Guild members are always to look for opportunities to better the Guild's situation and influence.
Guild activities:
Smuggling, Narcotics, Alcohol Distrubtion, Fraud, Bootlegging, Blackmail, Kidnapping, etc.
Those looking for belonging and acceptance, might turn to one of the sects of the Thieves Guild, including the Smuggler's Guild, who care not what race, class, background, or weird personal traits a person has, just that they are useful and able to be influenced.
Some of these guilds are powerful enough to hold significant political power, which they often obtained through bribery and intimidation. Most local guilds are short-lived groups that revolve around a particular individual.
They do not always follow the same deities, or any, although some do choose to align with Hecate Darkmoon. Her ideals of freewill and seize your own destiny, appeal to these people.
Members of thieves' guild often served one of the following roles, which were divided into divisions in larger guilds:
* assassins,
* beggars,
* bounty hunters,
* burglars,
* con artists
* tricksters,
* cutpurses and pickpockets,
* enforcers and thugs,
* racketeers,
* scouts and spies,
* fences,
* smugglers,
* pirates.

Structure
THE SHADOW THIEVES
The Shadow Thieves are discreet in their activities, even in places (like Konta ) where they are known by just about every citizen. Even the lower level members, who earned their gold as beggars, cut-purses, thugs and fences follow these rules as they go about their daily duties. Even these minor operations allow the Shadow Thieves to insert itself into the daily lives of citizens. Thus, a friendly game of chance run by a con artist gamer can lead to higher and higher stakes and a great take of gold for the agent and overall guild.Many citizens of Konta rely upon the manipulative and illicit services provided by the Shadow Thieves. Business people have become reliant on their protection rackets, money lenders and the enforcers and thugs they hire out. Politicians and government officials will often hire the guild's spies and burglars to obtain guarded knowledge, or plant false information. The multitude of traders and merchants receive a myriad of unique mercantile opportunities provided by the guild's smugglers and pirates.
The agents of the guild are just as ruthless as they are secretive. If a situation requires the use of violence, they will only take prisoners if a person is deemed worthy of capture, i.e. they possess arcane, political or financial power. The captives are relocated to a safe house until ransom can be collected or the person otherwise manipulated.
If the ranked member of the Shadow Thieves died or is removed from power, the existing members of the same rank will put forth candidates and vote upon a successor. If the member left in good standing, their families will be fully taken care of.
Those members capable of arcane or divine spellcasting often focus on the use of spells and magical items that enhance the agent's stealth, such as invisibility or sanctuary, or provided them with more information, lpossibly using the speak with dead spell.
THE NIGHT KNIVES
The Night Knives are a band of assassins that operated out of Labés City, as well as the towns of Larkin (Oshad region) and Konta (Genx region), under the approval of the thieves guild known as the Shadow Thieves. The group is led by Baron Bertrow Wallack, also referred to as the Lord of Assassins. Agents of the guild operate within all the major cities in Kutloc and Malnax (Jingré Region, Genx, Agwain, Oshad and Kilt regions). They are particularly dangerous because of their ability to blend in with high society along with their eagerness to accept almost any job, if only to hone their skills.MOON MASKS
The Moon Masks are a newer criminal organization part of the Thieves Guild based in both Jeyton City in Genx region of Malnax and Olin on Kutloc. They already were secretly taking over Jeyton City, when one of the Moon Masks was taken as a Token for The Gamblers' Run. Since arriving Lexi Juliton has became a major part of Olin. First recuit was Wanna, who resided in Olin already. Along with a few other Tokens and Kutloc residence, the Moon Masks got a strong influence within Olin. Important since Olin has been classified as the Secondary Capital City of Kutloc for a long time - with the previous capital Labés City becoming alienated due to the Feywild Expanse.They control the criminal underworld of the Kutloc - perform assassinations, kidnappings, extortion, smuggling, and blackmail.
The Moon Mask in Jeyton City are headed by a council of five werewolves led by Fanghil. While in Olin it is Lexi Juliton who reigns supreme over the entire Thieves Guild within Kutloc.
The guild is structured so that the higher up the leadership chain someone went, the more protection that person had. Fanghil and Lexi Juliton, being supreme rulers are therefore the most protected.
Four Night Masters reported directly to Fanghil or to Lexi. In turn, have the Counts who report to one of them. Each count has several lieutenants who lead four-man squads of rank-and-file rogues: thugs, assassins, tricksters, etc. Whatever type of agent is needed for the job delegated to them. These squads are kept ignorant of any other squad so if something happens to one group, others will not be affected.
The watchwords for the Mirror Masks are "plausible deniability". The elite of the guild were bitten by those with werewolf powers in a gruesome ceremony.
OTHER KNOWN MEMBERS OF MOON MASKS:
* Daiha (chatty)
* Mezer (lazy)
* Gick (excitable)
* Trev (kind)
* Musk (Bossy)
History
The Shadow Thieves was formed as a singular guild by five charismatic rogues (most famous is Davida, Elvian female) and later assassins in Jeyton City. It functioned as any of The Thieves' Guild sectors would for about 43 years, with the power of the group being shared among the families of the founders and their respective allies.
The "Masked Lady" (Zimona Threadsweet) infiltrated the organization and killed four of the group's five founding members.
The surviving senior guild-leader, Kazak "Deepshadow" Polan, and the remaining Shadow Thieves joined the Masked Lady. The Assassins Guild of Genx headquarters was moved to Konta, to limit the outside influences and being less noticable.
