First Pantheon

"The first Pantheon. Gods among the Gods, creators of the universe as we know it. Their remains and presence even exists today. However, many things about them remain still unknown" - Vissegerd, founder of Offstoke

After the fusion and mutual destruction of the two primordial entities, Ragdafuria, goddess of order and Avall'uch, Incarnation of chaos, the First Pantheon and the first Higher Ones were created. The age of Gods had begun. For the first million years, the Gods created the concepts and plains they were responsible for, under the supervision of Effneki. However, the presence and activity of the Higher Ones were counterpart to the Gods', and as such, Effneki set a trap to trigger an epic battle between these two factions. However, this ended in the mutual destruction and a second fusion, resulting in the creation of the Second Pantheon and Second Higher Ones.

Structure

The first Pantheon is structured in plains of existence. Every God of the first Pantheon has either a domain or a primordial concept they were supposed to control. Above all, Effneki, god of knowledge and war, led the first Pantheon into battle against The first Higher Ones. However, each individual god benefited of relative independence outside of battle against these entities, shaping the universe as we know it.

Public Agenda

The story of the First Pantheon is known even by every child on The Continent. Their stories and roles are no secret, and their pure motivation, at least it seems, is common knowledge. However, only a select few scholars and historians know about some of the Pantheon's darker sides, like Hel's rebellion and independence, or Effneki's suicide plan against the Higher Ones.

Assets

The First Pantheon was all powerful. They created and destroyed very planes of existence, worlds and entities. Their very existence is unfathomable to the mortal mind, which makes their eventual death even more complicated.

History

The First Pantheon was created along with The first Higher Ones as a result of the fusion of Avall'uch, Incarnation of chaos and Ragdafuria, goddess of order. After their spontaneous creation, the first gods immediately assumed their roles, creating the elements and concepts in their domain. However, the presence of the Higher Ones was a disturbance to the universe's balance, which attracted Effneki's attention. This was the beginning of the war between these two factions, a war that lasted for millions of years. About 10 000 000 years after their creation, it is said that Effneki decided to launch a final all out assault, leading all the gods into an epic battle with the Higher Ones by luring them into a trap and forcing them into a somewhat celestial material form (Higher Ones often only exist as entire planes or immaterial entities in their own existence). This Battle lead to the mutual destruction and, like their predecessors, fusion of the two groups to create the Second Pantheon and Second Higher Ones. However, some scholars and great wizards believe that Effneki's plan was actually to trigger a second fusion, hoping to create more balancing. This makes the trap in reality a suicide plan...

Tenets of Faith

Each God of the first Pantheon represents more a broad concept or ideal than individual tenets, which makes their veneration easy but abstract. As such, many different religions with their own tenets exist to venerate every single god of the first Pantheon. For Example, a human venerator of Freya will have different principles of fertility and love, such as related to harvest and marriage, than a triton cleric of her, who might more be focused on other concepts such as biological fertility and loyalty.

Granted Divine Powers

The Gods of the first Pantheon do not grant powers directly, as they technically no longer possess conscience or life (in most cases, though in recent times some powerful and devout believers of Forseti have devised a Plan to revive this great deity, which would shake the universe to its core). Instead, the power is seemingly granted at random to believers and non believers, the latter remaining a mystery to scholars and theoricians to this day. However, a follower of an old god will be more likely to receive power if they tend to live a lifestyle or have had events in their life that reflect the God's domain.
This inconsistency of divine powers is also one of the reasons why the old gods are venerated less than their successors of the Second Pantheon .
