Coraxol
The Matriarch of the Night (a.k.a. Cora/Corrie)
Coraxol is apart of the Divine Sages, considered one of the most important due to being the Allmother. She is the goddess of the moon, night, fertility, love, sex, and marriage, to name the few. Despite how "mean" she may look, Cora is really nice and motherly to people, making sure they're taken care of and loved. However, she is very sarcastive and sassy, having a dry sense of humor that could give Francine's own humor a run for its money. Cora especially doesn't take nonsense and will easily remind someone by humiliating them or putting them in their place if they're out of line. Even with how strict she can be, there's a kindness there. Though, she does catch people off guard with what she has, whether it'll make them choke on their food or drink or cause them to pause. Cora also tries to be as warm as possible, despite one of her domains causing more coolness in a day's cycle.
What is without a doubt known is Coraxol being happily married to Opeitos, who is also known as the Allfather. The two's union and love for each other being sensational and inspirational to all mortals alike. The marriage represents of day and night, and not only just that but causes day and night on Eon. Coraxol's chariot to pull darkness over Eon is pulled by Skoll, her son with Fenrir.
Coraxol is also the reason for Taurvros - and in turn behemoths existing on Eon - and interestingly enough, she is Catastrophe 's great-grandmother.
Divine Domains
the Moon, nighttime, stars, fertility, love, marriage, sex, wolves
Artifacts
Coraxol has a lot of artifacts contributed to her and the use of magic through her via summoning. Diamond shaped items are typically associated with her as well as taurvros in general as the shape of it is reminiscent to glowing stars in the sky.
Holy Books & Codes
The Testament of the Shroud - A special doctrine that devout priests follow, listing out the doctrines and followings her believer should worship.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
A crescent moon that may or may not be accompanied by a star behind it is a common symbol to recognize her. If not, diamonds are used to associate with her.
Tenets of Faith
- Be weary with where your tongue will lead you.
- Logic trumps over all.
- Study is desperately needed for society to prosper.
- Hold your head high, but do not be afraid of times of weakness. Your people are there for you for a reason.
- To love is to grief the things you have had. Respect and cherish that love.
- Offer your goddess the following: Fresh seafood, cooked dishes enjoyed by the goddess, books, precious gems, bangles/wristlets, monetary value (gold, cloudstone)
Holidays
Noelle's Light - While this holiday is not something she created or instructed on her followers, religious people on Eon have a close association of her with it due to Opeitos being Saint Nickolas and by extension, Coraxol being his wife Mrs. Saint Nickolas, Sara. This all started from several kids seeing Opeitos and Corrie ending up in a location they were at by mistake, and to give respects to the house they feel they invaded, they left presents under their tree. This holiday is as old as time, and is something that both adults and children look forward to.
Even if they're not religious, it's all about gift giving and spending time with family.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The goal of Coraxol's sect is to appreciate and understand knowledge and lessons in life, while further educating oneself and others around them. Educating others on the Divine religion, but not through force but information, is key as well.
Physical Description
Body Features
Coraxol has a very built body, with rounding curves and pudginess. She has a large stomach, with matching thighs, arms and breasts. Seeing that she is the goddess of fertility, her appearances show she is certainly built like one.
The most defining trait she has is her individua braids she has - her hairstyle made in bundles of hair, her galaxy pattern running through it at all times. Her eyes constantly glow a deep shade of blue, which may or may not match with her galaxy pattern.
Another defining trait are the taurvros features she has - these are not what she had naturally. Killing Moloch the way she did came with the price of her growing cow features. While this irritated her at first, she grew fond of them, and especially fell in love with her first bovine child that she had with Opeitos. This child is regarded as one of the many ancestors to taurvros, but he was killed in the war along with many of his siblings, and other Divine family.
Special abilities
Coraxol was formerly the goddess of magic before she gave up the domain to Francine due to surpassing her in her skillset.
As soon as Nani and Zioda had constructed her and Opeitos' blades, Corra set out to embark on the most difficult training regiment even for a Divine - hoping to master key-shifting. She trained for 100 years under Nani's supervision without eating, sleeping, drinking or resting, wanting to prove her worth in destroying voidseeds or any offenders to her family. The work paid off, with her not only being able to key-shift her weapon but learning the skill to do the very same with other's weapons given to her for use.
She can quickly shift her weapons on the fly to use them with ease.
She can also become impervious to damage while she uses her skills, her aggressive fighting style causing foes to look for any (small) openings that she may display between her key shifting or movement. Her skills with reality magic and shadow magic with the moon by association makes her a force to be reckoned with, granting her access to not just only all of the elements but some shadow elements that can override the element they're derivatives of, and possibly cancel attacking foes' skills.
Coraxol also has access to healing magic, and while it's rare for her to take on being a mage because of her affinity for directly fighting, she can sit back and keep support based on providing defense and mending wounds with a simple flick of her wrest.
Lastly, because she's the moon goddess, she can cause nighttime to happen at any point in time that she would like. She uses her special shroud, called the Altum Shroud, to cape the world in darkness.
Apparel & Accessories
Coraxol, being the goddess of the moon, has many adorned jewelry pieces, armor pieces and sets of armor full of the moon motif, along with traces of star motif because of her affinity in space. She loves wearing silver, but she's also seen wearing gold.
She also loves having the same galaxy design in her hair run through her clothes, with many clothing pieces for her arms and legs having it to match. She can make those parts of her clothing disappear to further channel her magic and spells to become far more potent.
Specialized Equipment
Coraxol summons a special blade capable of shifting into various weapons for whatever need she may have. Like the other Divine weapons, it was created in a holy vault by Zioda (with Nani's help), requested specifically by Opeitos. Cora cherishes the blade, which she named Moonfall (Lunacadenza in Vocem).
The blade is able to keyshift into a variety of weapons - namely, a bow (with arrows made of starlight), cestuses with spikes that can be rearranged off of her hands for inducing more damage, a whip and a massive canon. She can use her stardust and starlight to project onto the blade and make it even stronger.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Coraxol was not always this optimistic about life and certainly was a different person long ago. While there are heart warming stories about Corrie being a sweet goddess that offers her services to her followers and worshippers, there's quite the opposite a long time ago. Ancient tomes depict Cora as a rather bitter goddess with a vengeful streak; that she was very violent and temperamental.
Cora was actually a vanir goddess who was queen of Vanaheim. She loves her family, even now when she's not recognized as fanir.
She enjoyed turning into her wolf form and running through the fields and having lazy naps after eating some sweet berries native to her realm. But she began to get curious and wonder if there were other people besides her family. And that's how she met Opeitos, Francine, Ursula, and Zioda. Cora was so excited to see other gods apart of the same planet, even if they were all from one different realm. Sometime down the same path, she fell in love with Fenrir and had puppies with him in her wolf form; these babies are Skoll and Hati.
Some time after that did Coraxol met Nyarlathotep. A relationship quickly blossomed and the result was Rinvel, but even this part of Coraxol's history is very murky. Rin's own existence in itself is far more murky in details. Her marrying Opeitos also came later, but that's the only information "known" by mortals and from then after.
Cora was starting to see how much of a threat voidseeds were becoming on her planet, and fought as hard as she could. One bad fight took place in Vanaheim, with the minotaur voidseed Moloch attempting to take over one realm and move on to the next. There's even a theory that Coraxol was not a cow goddess originally, and that she became cursed from eating Moloch's heart in a violent, mania driven ritual.
However the details of the battle had ended, Cora had morphed into a behemoth - a violent cattle and canine monster that can break out from bouts of extreme rage. From that point on, she made sure to keep her rage in check.
This and Rin's birth had broke her family's trust in her, and she was exiled from Vanaheim because of it.
Conflicts of voidseeds invading the planet and dealing with betrayal from people she thought was close friends lead to Corra becoming so much more hateful, and it would take several thousand years for her to finally lose her intense anger. This time period of her hatred is also where she met Taurus and, with Taurus having permission from her husband, introduced taurvros to Eon.
Ragnarok was what broke Coraxol, out of her anger and her spirit.Nandipha's death, along with a large amount of her children's death, was what Coraxol had needed to break her anger and finally cope with it by feeling sorrow. She appreciated her Divine family, and soon became very loving, trusting and opened herself to people without feeling like she needed to hold herself back.
This didn't stop her and the others to retire to Asgard to recuperate from the war and have time to grieve, however.
Gender Identity
Coraxol identifies as female. However, like the other Divines, she can shapeshift as needed.
Sexuality
Her sexuality is bisexual, though she has a preference for men.
Education
Coraxol is one of the most intelligent goddesses out of the pantheon, some arguing that both her and Francine are just neck to neck with one another. Her sense of diligence in learning more knowledge rubbed off on her younger Divine member. Cora herself always had a strong thirst of knowledge, and found the mortal's explanation behind how their world work to be the most fascinating to her. Her wisdom isn't restrained to just the aforementioned subjects, as Corrie has books and assorted collection of information in regards to every matter of study possible. She even donated some of the books to Francine to help her with her own studies and pursuing chase in information, and later on christened her with the domain of wisdom as well.
She's also great at giving sound advice, however, it's noted her emotions may get in the way of sounding not as bias in some cases.
Employment
All the Divine Sages, except for one goddess in particular, have a disguise to hide their celestial energy and be among mortals without causing alarm. Cora goes by the name Tori Estrem, and teaches 10th, 11th, and 12th grade math, science and chemistry at the Dross-based highschool Drossian Heights, in Magnesia. While Tori is very similar to her Divine counterpart and loves children, she sometimes questions the generaton of kids that go through her class with their rambunctiousness. Her husband, called Gaal Estrem, even works as a coworker with her and he's been privy with the craziness the kids can cause.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- Stopped a voidseed invasion with the assistance of her Divine pantheon. She some of her children, and other Divine kids, as causalities, however.
- Encouraged the growth of math and science on Eon, but not too much.
- Introduced taurvros to Eon, considered to be the All-Mother to them and their specific religious sect.
- Controls the moon and helps soothe the tides from the waters on Eon, while also providing light at night from her husband.
Mental Trauma
Like other Divines, Coraxol has gone through a lot of trauma, and while she was very bitter and egregiously angry over it, she's learned to take her trauma and make sure
Had to go through the Ragnarok, and set up the many funerals for a lot of the children she had with her husband, and the other Divine children. She still misses many of them.
Various scars all over her body from dealing with attacks, and even self-harming.
Having to bury her priests or followers from natural or unnatural deaths. It's still hard even after all this time.
Morality & Philosophy
Coraxol is a little more strange with her morality and philosophy - some may even think of her as a hypocrite for giving out the advice she believes means well but doesn't believe it is for her ownself.
She believes that life is full of lessons and whether someone decides to heed those or ignore them is their own decision, but their ignorance or hubris will be their very own downfall. She believes that while you should sit down and appreciate the people around you, you should also learn to appreciate your own self - and thus self care is the best form of living through life, while keeping the type of self-care and indulgence in check before it'll ruin a person. This is something she practices, though.
Her views on life may be slightly pessimistic, maybe even moreso than the other Divines. Some say her nihilism is even stronger than Francine's in some case, as she believes everything has a means to an end, and it can (or will usually) go terribly wrong. However a person arrives to that destination through their choices, and what they do with them, is their own fault and responsibility. To take no responsibility for anything one does, is to reject the diligence that they served in life, and thus that is actually rejecting her.
Her husband did influence her to look to life more positively, but she is a realistic pessimist she believes.
