Kingdom of Azgaar
The former capital of the Ramerian Empire and centre of political power on the continent, Azgaar is home to the most influential powerholders of the old Empire. A land shaped by Feudalism and political intrigue, the current King will have to seriously consolidate his power base in order to rule his mighty nation as one.
It is the most natural successor to the old Empire and has most of its old laws, customs and power structures still in place, yet the various vassals have grown rather unruly due to the massive losses they had to endure during The Xingqin War. The new King, a former claimant to the Ramerian Throne, will have to bring the many lords of the realm back on his side.
When the detonation of the Godhammer resulted in an open protest by many of the vassals, he used to opportunity to rally the independence movement and only two months later, he managed to take the capital region and build the foundations of his new Kingdom there.
Attempting to take as much land from the dying Empire as possible, he severely overextended his own resources during The Independence Wars, angering the vassals that hoped for the next king to usher in a much-needed era of peace and stability.
Peasants - mostly farmers - rarely ever manage to acquire a deed to a house in a city, which would grant them freemanship. However, it is still possible if his lord permits it in a writ and he has enough money. Women are forbidden from exercising most trades, yet they do often help out in times of need, in first line in the lower castes.
Both Kingdom of Casteria and Darcozzi Order are well-respected trading partners of the Kingdom.
The King pursues a pacifist agenda and refuses to commit his troops to any offensive manoeuvres in a bid to placate the nobles of his realm who are still exhausted from the war with the Xingqin.
This also means a vast difference in quality and quantity: the more wealthy lords naturally have larger and better-equipped armies, yet there are also some that are unwilling to spend much money on their retinue. It is very hard to effectively command such a large force that has never been taught to form in rank and as a part of a larger army, making them inefficient on a large battlefield.
A Brief Overview
Azgaar itself is rich and features many population and production centres, resulting in the wealth of the landowners being considerable. They however also have a large amount of freedom and often only pay minimal tributes to the King. This goes so far that some of the so-called 'Borderlords' reign almost independently. It is the most natural successor to the old Empire and has most of its old laws, customs and power structures still in place, yet the various vassals have grown rather unruly due to the massive losses they had to endure during The Xingqin War. Founding
Azgaar obtained independence on the 13th of , almost a month before the official dissolution of the Ramerian Empire. The King, Karl Evreux, is a long-standing adversary to the old Ramerian Emperor. He is part of a cadet branch of the same dynasty as him and has for a long time attempted to overthrow him, rallying the support of disloyal vassals. When the detonation of the Godhammer resulted in an open protest by many of the vassals, he used to opportunity to rally the independence movement and only two months later, he managed to take the capital region and build the foundations of his new Kingdom there.

Culture
Azgaar is very pious and internalised the fourth Divine Law, enforcing a strict caste system that almost completely eliminates social mobility. As such, the merchants of the realm wield comparatively little power and tend to be bound to a feudal lord themself.Peasants - mostly farmers - rarely ever manage to acquire a deed to a house in a city, which would grant them freemanship. Diplomatic Relations
They are rather ambivalent towards Grand Vailia as many of the lords trade with them while at the same time others are concerned about their expansionist policies. They are however an officially recognised trading partner, and as such no diplomatic sanctions can be levied against them. Both Kingdom of Casteria and Darcozzi Order are well-respected trading partners of the Kingdom.

Military
Navy
The Azgaarian Fleet is, to a large part, comprised of old Ramerian ships that were guarding the home waters. As such, it is rather sizable, although many of the largest warships have been decommissioned and few new ships have been built. This is because those are still largely owned by the King himself, and his vassals voted against spending large amounts of wealth on maintaining it, while they rarely build ships themselves.Army
Their army is very large and diverse: every vassal is responsible for maintaining an adequate force to defend their directly owned territory and send some to their own liege in the case of war. This also means a vast difference in quality and quantity: the more wealthy lords naturally have larger and better-equipped armies, yet there are also some that are unwilling to spend much money on their retinue.
