Ironfang Keep
History
Built on top of an old dwarven hold from the age of petty kings, Ironfang Keep was rebuilt in 1027. The underlying dwarven fortress had served as a makeshift structure from which to lead raids out upon the surrounding countryside, so for hundreds of years it was periodically infested with bandits, raiders and all manner of creature. However when the noble House Ironhelm was founded in 1026, the lands and old fortress were given to the new house to call their own. The fortress was rebuilt and the town soon grew around it.
Population
The town now boasts some 3200 people, about 65% of which are hobgoblin. 25% are men, and the remaining 10% are remaining races. Very few if any dwarves lives here due to the longstanding animosity between the two people.
Economy
Dispite being thought of as a warlike culture, the people of Ironfang keep have taken up all manner of other things. Excellent sausage and jerky is made here, and many traders are beginning to see the town as a worthwhile stop on their routes.
Unlike many other towns, people of Ironfang Keep often leave to make a name for themselves and then return to Ironfang after securing some coin elsewhere.
