The Conflict

Prelude

The Tenebrans had successfully secured two sacrifices for the Horizon Gate and were seeking a third in Amalie Tyriene, who had been previously identified to the Gatewatch by Remythra Armathor. They utilized the Horizon Gate to teleport directly to Amalie's location by tracking her Gate Watch's Protection Signet.
The Loyal Foils arrived with limited information and began searching for Amalie, initially believing her to be a student at the Esoterium of Magic. After consulting the headmistress and assistant headmaster of the Esoterium, the party correctly identified Amalie and made their way to her location in the Conjuration study building.

The Engagement

A Tenebran strike team led by Kaspian Armathor teleports into a conjuration study hall on the second floor where Amalie is practicing magic late at night. She is startled and immediately attempts to redirect her spell towards one of her assailants, Soneillon , blowing out one of the room's windows.
The Loyal Foils see this as they dash to intercept the Tenebran forces. They arrive in the room just as Amalie is being attacked by Gatani Armathor. Soneillon attempts to keep the Loyal Foils engaged while her allies fail to pin down the elusive Amalie. Utilizing her astral abilities, Amalie dodges her attackers and teleports herself onto the roof of the building. Most of the Tenebrans give chase, despite a number of them being blinded by Ibis Praece's magic. Quarion Armathor teleports to the roof in pursuit while Leo Vasilius teleports the remaining Loyal Foils to join him.   Headmistress Vivienne Jorarde sees the commotion on the roof and flies up to assist the Loyal Foils. Leo is knocked unconscious from the strain of using his magic and is subsequently killed by Soneillon. Corfinas Drannor engages a blinded Kaladim Armathor and easily slays him. Amalie suffers from stress induced teleportation, which facilitates her escape from the combat.
Kaspian Armathor immediately calls the Tenebrans to retreat, and uses his counter-magic to protect them until he can successfully teleport them back to Armath.
