Wood Elves
Wood Elves are the second known elven variation, believed to have emerged roughly 4,000 years after the Mistral War. They are thought to descend from the youngest High Elf ruler and his followers, who departed from traditional elven society to reconnect with nature. Found in the same regions where that ruler vanished, Wood Elves are deeply tied to the natural world in both form and spirit.
This variation is marked by their earthy skin tones—ranging from brown to olive—and natural hair and eye colors that mirror the hues of forests, flowers, and fertile soil. Compared to High Elves, Wood Elves have shorter lifespans, calmer demeanors, and an innate affinity for Earth Magic, along with resistance to it and a vulnerability to Fire Magic.
Because of their outward similarities to High Elves, early societies mistook them as simply “tanned” High Elves or gifted druids. When their distinct physiology and magic were discovered, they were generally welcomed, sometimes even revered as nature-blessed.
Wood Elves embody the patient, contemplative traits often attributed to elves. Even in youth, they seem serene and measured, taking their time to make decisions and absorb their surroundings. As one Wood Elf saying goes:
"The strong oak did not grow in haste—it took its time, drinking in the sun and water and enjoying the wind. "

Growth Rate & Stages
- As one of the oldest life span species, Wood Elves are considered infants between the ages of zero to eight, during which time they were completely dependent on their parents for food and care. They gradually pick up mobility and world awareness.
- The next stage is kids who learn, play, and grow between the ages of 9 to 19. Although kids are not as dependent on their parents at this point, they are still present to meet the majority of their needs. However, young kids are inquisitive and beginning to understand others and themselves. These kids also remember everything and will use it against you so be careful.
- Between the ages of 20 to 45, their bodies begin to evolve and develop into adults, which is referred to as the teenage years. Their physical body begins to gain figure, height, weight, and muscles. In most situations, this is also where natural magic develops. In most circumstances, they will also begin to establish their identity and become less reliant on their parents.
- From the ages of 45 to 175, they are in their adulthood also called Bright years, their bodies have matured, and they have a good sense of what their natural magic will do. It will continue to develop as they age, but in most cases, it has a set of talents. This is also the time when they find what they want to do with their life.
- Seedling is a Special time for Wood Elves. The age range is from 175 to 400 years. This is the time when their Wood Elves' bodies will allow them to reproduce. These are the years when Wood-Elves start families and their instincts to find a significant other and start a family are more stronger than usual. This instinct will not overpower their identity or desires but rather make some of what they are attracted to more visible to them and the want for a family more appealing.
- They are elders between the ages of 400 and 550, often known as their Wittering years; their bodies have gradually begun to slow down and become weaker, as have their magical abilities if they are not kept up with. Wood Elves areas seem to be in the mental state of High Elves in old age. So when Wood Elves hit the senior stage their personalities will begin to deteriorate. They tend to zone out and overthink or reminisce. If we think High Elves take a long time to act in their old age, Wood Elves have them beaten by a long shot.
Ecology and Habitats
Wood Elves prefer grasslands, forests, and ancient groves. Though capable of living anywhere due to their intelligence and magic, they are most comfortable in places where flora thrives. Their cities often appear to be reclaimed ruins overrun with greenery, though in truth they are expertly crafted to live in harmony with the land.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Wood Elves are omnivores but gain more energy from fruits and vegetables than most species. Their light frames and slower metabolisms mean they require less food overall compared to other medium-sized sentient beings.
