Elarin

Elarin are the result of unions between humans and elves, blending mortal drive with Elven grace. They are seen as bridges between cultures—revered or scorned depending on the kingdom. Elarin can inherit traits from High Elves, Wood Elves, or Dark Elves, and are the most common half-breeds in Elema.

They often possess the strength and resolve of humans but lack the full elegance or longevity of pureblood elves. They do not undergo the "Twilight Years" that affect full elves, instead displaying a more urgent, human pace of life. Their diverse heritages grant them a wide range of potential, though many Elarin struggle with balance or coordination due to their mixed genetics.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elarin are generally lean and tall, with pointed ears that are shorter than those of full elves. Their builds vary depending on their elven heritage—more muscular from High Elf or Human stock, more slender from Wood Elf, and more elegant or striking if descended from Dark Elves. They share standard humanoid features: two arms, two legs, five fingers, and hair on their heads.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elarin result from a union between a human and an elf. Gestation depends on the mother’s race (9–11 months). Two Elarin parents will always produce an Elarin child. If only one parent is an Elarin, there’s a 30% chance the child will also be one; otherwise, the child inherits the full race of the other parent. They cannot reproduce with non-human, non-elf species.

Growth Rate & Stages

  • Elarin age more similar to human ancestor considered infants between the ages of zero to four, during which time they were completely dependent on their parents for food and care. They gradually pick up mobility and world awareness.
  • The next stage is kids who learn, play, and grow between the ages of five to twelve. Although kids are not as dependent on their parents at this point, they are still present to meet the majority of their needs. However, young kids are inquisitive and beginning to understand others and themselves.
  • Between the ages of 13 to 25, their bodies begin to evolve and develop into adults, which is referred to as the teenage years. Their physical body begins to gain figure, height, weight, and muscles. In most situations, this is also where natural magic develops. In most circumstances, they will also begin to establish their identity and become less reliant on their parents.
  • From here there last two stages of life is longer than humans. From the ages of 26 to 230, they are in their adulthood, their bodies have matured, and they have a good sense of what their natural magic will do. It will continue to develop as they age, but in most cases, it has a set of talents.
  • From 161 to roughly 290+ years of age, they are elders; their bodies have gradually begun to slow down and become weaker, as have their magical talents if they are not kept up with. Other people regard them as wise because they have lived a lengthy life for a Elarin. This is the Elarin life cycle.

Ecology and Habitats

Elarin live wherever their parents raise them—rural, urban, forest, or coastal. They adapt easily to various climates and cultures.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are omnivores and they will eat similar to their human parent they cannot eat just mostly veggies like their Elven parents. They need a little more meat to get by.

Behaviour

Elarin are omnivores. While they may inherit some dietary tendencies from elven parents, they require a balanced diet including proteins and meats more in line with their human ancestry.

Elarin adopt the social norms of their home region or family. Their place in society varies depending on cultural views of half-breeds; in some cities they are honored, in others marginalized.

Facial characteristics

Elarin have distinctively pointed ears, though smaller than those of elves. Their facial features often blend human softness with elven sharpness.

Elarin skin tones are a blend of their parents’. Hair and eye colors vary widely, sometimes taking on shimmering elven hues or more grounded human tones.
