The Continent of Aygess, is the largest and most furtil land on the planet of Eldridth. The land has ben heavily settled by different nations, though many swatchs of untamed wilderness still exisit. Travel between continents is almost impossible because of Neraeos who keeps the Oceans free of travellers with his divine influence, though navigating close the coast is possible for sailors.

Many people can pick up and use simple ranged weapons, but minor training can give them proficiency, adding the proficiency bonus to the attacks. Most require Ammunition, which is drawn and used as part of each attack. At the end of battle you can recover half your expended ammunition by taking a minute to search the battlefield for them.

Martial Melee Weapons

Martial Weapons are most often used by Warriors with specific proficiencies with the weapon. Most of this weapons put warriors fighting style and training to the best use. Using a martial weapon without proficiency gives a -1 to attack rolls, and using one with proficiency allows the proficiency bonus to be added instead.

Improvised Weapons

Sometimes characters don't have their weapons and have to attack with whatever is at hand. An improvised weapon includes any object you can wield in one or two hands, such as broken glass, a table leg, a frying pan, even a wagon wheel.
Often these weapons may be similar to actual weapons, such as with a broken table leg being basically a Club. Characters with proficiency in those similar weapons can treat them as those weapons.
An object that bears no similarity of actual weapons would deal 1d4 damage, more if the DM decides it is appropriate for the item. This is also true of using weapons in a way they were not designed to be used, like hitting someone with the hilt of a sword, or throwing a Shortsword. If you are throwing a improvised weapon it has a normal range of 20 ft, and a long range of 60 ft.
