Monstrosities
Monstrosities, are dark creatures that defy nature, and are often evil or chaotic. While we may not know all the monstrosities that exist in the world, here is a short understanding of the creatures that have been spotted in Aygess.
Banderhobbs have no sense or understanding of right and wrong, caring only to serve its master, and succeed at all costs. They are excellent trackers, able to track prey from miles away.
Doppelgangers often will replace infants in the crib with their own young to allow their young to be raised. Once that child reaches adolescence, it will discover its true nature, and seek out its own kind, usually finding their parent who returned waiting to meet them, who will guide them in the next few years before they become indepdent.
Gricks are communal creatures often gathered together, following a well fed oversized alpha. These alphas are terrifying creatures, best left avoided. They are known for the parasitic nature, often devouring a area fully until nothing is left, or being driven away.
Often living amongst there own kind, they are often attracted to the power of a coven of hags. While they do not posses magic, they find dark magic fascinating, and can sometimes also be found around a dark mages abode.
They are very barbaric in nature, refusing to trust others. They have their own language, and have never been speaking any other. Their language appears to be combining grunts and scents released from a gland in the neck. The stench of Troglodytes language has created another major barrier to attempts to study them or understand them.
Troglodytes form clans, who mostly worry about gathering food and necessities, though they will often see domesticated animals and children as easy prey, especially if their territory drifts anywhere close to civilized spaces. These groups largely care little about the world around them, and must be driven off or destroyed in many cases. They can also be subjugated, and forced with the same barbarous means that seems to be the only form of communication they understand from other beings.
Banderhobb
Creations of dark magic, from flesh and Shadow, these are often made by Hags to do evil, or protect the being who created them. They are made from a dark magic ritual, which Hags have traded away as well, so this knowledge is not limited to the Hags. Basilisk
A lizard like creature that has a petrifying Gaze, very dangerous, as it will petrify anything within its site, and proceed to devour them. They are also poisonous, which just adds to their danger.Doppelganger
Doppelgangers are dark and evil creatures that can shape shift into any small or medium humanoid creature it has seen, they delight in spreading fear, suspicion and are masters of deceit. Ettercap
A oddly shaped creature, almost spider like, but with a more humanoid body, these creatures like spiders make webs, which they use to fashion traps and snares for their pray. As there size is equal to that of a human, they lay large webs and attempt to trap wayward travelers in remote locations.Gorgon's
A massive Iron bull, this monster is more machine then creature, but it moves and is certainly alive. Even its teeth are made of Iron. It tramples and gores its enemies and can breath out a petrifying gas when it is outnumbered or cornered.Oozes
Many living Oozes have been discovered on Aygess, and little is known of their source. Oozes thrive in the dark, often slinking through underground area's slinking and dripping looking for organic materials that they can dissolve. Often as they gather food, they will collect other objects within them, and it is common to see coins, gear, and bones suspending within their quivering bodies. Oozes do not seem to have any intelligence, but also do seem to have a awareness of there environment. No form of communication has ever been discovered, but these creatures can certainly be deadly to the unwitting traveler.Gricks
Terrifying Worm like creatures, with a rigid beak, and four tentacles, with sharp toothlike barbs surrounded by suction cups, allowing it to grab and devour pray. Harpy
A Harpy is a creature the combines a vulture with a human. Combining the Torso, arms and head of a human with the legs, and wings of a vulture, these creatures taking much glee in the suffering and death of others. Able to sing a song much like a siren, they can lure unsuspecting victims to a painful end.Often living amongst there own kind, they are often attracted to the power of a coven of hags. Mimic's
Mimics are shapechanging creatures that change to appear like any object roughly their size, which depends on how well fed they have been. When a Mimic is touched, anything that touches it becomes adhered to it, any huge or smaller creature is also grappled by it. Once it is revealed it will transform into its horrifying form, which is larger a mouth with many rows of sharp teeth, and eyes, as well as a pseudopod, or in some cases several pseudopods, which extend out from within it like a tongue, that is also adhesive, and attempts to drag prey deep into its gullet.Troglodytes
Troglodytes are dark dwelling reptilians, standing slightly shorter then the average human, with spindly mutated muscular arms, squat legs and slender tails. Their bodies are coated with rough leathery scales, and are a grayish-green and brown skin town, although they can change the coloration of there skin much like chameleon's. There lizard like heads, would have frills that extended on the foreheads to the neck indicating they were male, and the females would often have either no frills, or just frills on the neck.
