Common Knowledge of the Fey

Long ago, Elderith touched the fairy plane, and there was a period where Fey creatures could migrate between the two planes. But after only a few hundred years, many of the paths between them became closed, and many of them became stranded in our world. The influence of their magic resonates in certain places.   Many know of the fey creatures that are mostly nuisances. Gremlins and Boggarts make nests just about anywhere, sometimes in abandoned buildings, other times in less accessed sheds. They are even known to make there way into attics or basements of inhabited houses, usually finding some place they are unlikely to be disturbed.   Trolls and Ogres while obviously more dangerous Fey creatures, though they tend to avoid dense civilization, though it is not uncommon for them to cause problems in more remote settlements. For most fleeing in the wake of these creatures is the best action to take.   It is far from unheard of to see a satyr in civilized area's, even in the big cities. Normally seen in inns and bars, livening up the place with music and dance. Some small rural towns have tiny fairy villages with Fey, Pixies, Sprites, and sometimes even a leprechaun or two. Travel deep into the woods at all, and you would surely encounter some Devas, small balls of light who while they look like glowing insects, are actually more like tiny fey. An observant and lucky eye may even spy a dryad on a trip through the woods.   Kobolds and Imp villages exist, scattered around the world, often in remote rarely traveled areas. Territorial and reclusive, little is known of either besides that you would much rather have a run in with a group of Kobolds then Imps.   Stories of other Fey Creatures are common place, from Nymphs, Centaurs, Sirens and more. Its hard to shift between fact and fiction. Most of the expert knowledge of these Fey Creatures is held within very old books. Rumors abound about Fey Creatures, one that is told most often is to never thank a fairy, and never ask them for there name. Most people know that fairies hate salt and iron, though the specifics of how to use them are a bit vague, it does not stop many a questionable shop selling various items they claim protect you from fairy magic.
