Shifra, the Queen's Crater (She-Fra)

Shifra is a large crater of smoking divine ash in the centre of Naham, City of Bells. The crater is revered by citizens of Naham, because of it's history and its association with bringing in a new era for the city. The Nahamians come to the outskirts of this crater to pray to The Raven Queen if their need is great, as it is believed that the Queen has a stronger presence around Shifra. As a sign of respect, and to worship The Raven Queen, Nahamians coat the tip of two fingers and draw a straight vertical line down their face. They call this the Queen's Mark, bestowing good fortune and The Raven Queen's favour on those that wear it, but only if they are worthy as Medmorn was.

History

In 469AU, Naham was attacked by a force of Githzerai monks, recently forced to flee from their Adamantine Monastery in Amaron, and led by a bloodthirsty Githyanki Commander. Despite the two peoples differences, the Githyanki commander roused the usually passive monks into a battle frenzy and led them in a siege of Naham. While the frenzied Gith raided the city and clashed with the city guards, an adventuring group known as The Vanguard arrived from Shadowfell and successfully awakening the previously slumbering The Raven Queen. In the midst of the mighty clash between the adventuring party and the Gith forces, the Githyanki Supreme Commander attempted to use its Red Dragon Mount to light the city buildings on fire and distract the heroes. To counter this, Medmorn flew into and impaled himself onto the massive Dragon and called out a prayer to The Raven Queen which allowed her to pinpoint the location and send a gargantuan pillar of shadow energy down to smite the ground and incinerate the commander, the dragon, and also Medmorn in the process. This act of self-sacrifice saved the city from destruction and is not forgotten by the citizens of Naham, City of Bells .
