Light Elves and Mountain Dwarves

The first Half Elf was conceived by a Light Elf and Mountain Dwarven couple. The child's skin was tanner than the norm for Light Elves, as well as shorter height. But the pointed ears were unmistakable to be a Light Elf. This showed how unity could come in different forms, even marriage and births. However, after Strection's tyranny began, Mountain Dwarves married fewer Light Elves. This resulted in the half breeds to become endangered.

Light Elves and Humans

Humans didn't start breeding with Light Elves until after they migrated to Astnyr. This conceived Half Elves that had human and light elven traits. They were taller than their dwarven siblings, but it was another example of unity in the most unlikely of places.

Physical Traits

Half-Elves had the most variations among other races of Astnyr. This was because Half-Elves were born with one Elven parent, but could also have a Human or Dwarven parent. They carried every aspect and trait that their parent races could have, and it could be in a wide variety. For example, a child could have gold eyes, but also red hair that wasn't normal for a Light Elf. All Half-Elf males could grow facial hair, even with their Elven heritage. Their brows were also that of the Human or Dwarf parent.

Naming Traditions

Half-Elves kept to their elven naming traditions more than their other half. It was the Elven honor to give the child a name that would bring their children a future in the realm. As Half-Elves were so well taken by the people, they were a gift instead of a burden. These children brought two races together in harmony, and names from the Light Elves would reflected this.
