Strection, God of Strength and Protection

Strection by AuthorChase on Heroforge
Strection built Ironhammer in the forest mountains near many ore and gem sources. This gave many Mountain Dwarves the idea to mine what they could of the resources. With Nave's help, Strection taught his people how to protect the surrounding environment while taking what they needed. Using these materials, the Mountain Dwarves created masterpieces and established the Crafters Guild.

History

Crafters Guild by AuthorChase on DrawShield

When Strection founded Ironhammer, the Mountain Dwarves began contemplating what they could do for the realm. Some became Justice Paladins under Justlight, but others were of a unique mind. These Dwarves founded a crafting guild that helped people all over Astnyr. They gathered materials for their craft and worked with multiple clients. The Dwarves trained in mining, blacksmithing, and jewelsmithing while other races dabbled in other professions.   Light Elves, who were already woodsmithers, carpenters, and weavers, joined the Crafters Guild. When the Humans migrated to Astnyr, alchemists joined the guild as well. Eventually, farmers and ranchers joined. Commissions to the Crafters' Guild included both military and personal needs, such was their reputation. However, there were sometimes mistakes where the guild made a weapon for someone who used it to commit crimes. Justlight determined if the guild had liability over incidents and, if so, demanded coin for the victims.   The guild became separated when Ironhammer became hostile toward outsiders, forcing families to separate. The separation had an impact on the guild's morale, but they believed they could resolve everything eventually, so they could reunite with their loved ones in Ironhammer. At present, these Mountain Dwarves lived in Seaport.

Farmers

Farmer by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Farmers handled the food supply of Astnyr. This included growing crops and raising livestock. However, farmers couldn't grow crops in the snowy mountains of Frosthalla.   Before Beight's expedition through Astnyr, Knowler taught many Light Elves how to cultivate the land. During his time of discovery, he noticed how different food sources were from Notta. Food not only had nutrients, but taste as well. There were ways to make sure the taste was at its best while keeping nutrients within the crop.   Knowler tested this with volunteers within Hystoria. The Light Elves could grow many crops based on the city's natural climate along with nature magic. Vegetables and fruits such as sweet corn, beans, tomato, bell pepper, squash, cucumber, and melon. Trees such as apricot, plum, and peach. The fruit trees became a delicacy among the elves, with the sweet taste of the fruits. These trees became necessary when Humans taught the citizens of Astnyr about alchemy after farmers became established.   As time passed and more settlements and races emerged, farmers became a required way of life. Without farmers, there would be no healthy diet for the citizens of Astnyr, or certain potions would be impossible to create. Regardless of their class status, society valued these members.

Ranchers

Rancher by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Ranchers weren't a part of Astnyr until Frost Giants were created by Winter. Knowler addressed them about a concern of malnourishment cases within Magick Glades and Craftport. There was also an influx of beasts attacking the villages with the least protection. Winter thought about this conundrum, witnessing animal movements in his owl form.   They discovered overpopulation of animals was the concern, including fish in the lakes, rivers, and ocean. Winter assigned Frost Giants to travel across the region to kill and harvest materials from the overpopulated areas. Many other races volunteered. Together, they solved both the overpopulation and malnourishment problem.   Ranchers used winter magic to freeze the meat for preservation. That was until it was necessary to cook or trade the food. Ranching helped Frosthalla find a reliable food source other than crops within the snowy mountains. They raised and butchered animals such as snow leopards and mammoths.

Carpenters

Carpenter by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Carpenters were the builders who gave citizens roofs over their heads. They assisted Beight and other Gods build the realm, one city and village at a time. These builders handled renovations and repairing homes and other construction. This was to make sure all citizens stayed safe and happy.   During Beight's traveling days, some within the party began getting ideas of how to help the realm. A couple of Light Elves named Hadias Goldleaf and Kylia Sunglow looked around the forests with these ideas. With Beight's permission, the two Light Elves cut trees, but they still left some to repopulate the forests. Once the travel party reached where Beight wished to build the first settlement, Hadias and Kylia went into action.   They built Craftport, with protecting the Light Paladins from wild beasts. Beight assisted them, seeing how these wooden buildings could be beneficial. Once they finished, everyone hailed the two builders as heroes and the founders of the Carpenters. Through time, the Carpenters joined other crafters to founded the Crafters Guild.

Weavers

Weaver by AuthorChase on HeroForge
The population commissioned weavers to create clothing. This could range from low-class to high-class products. No matter the client, weavers took great care and time to perfect each piece of clothing. This resulted in quality over quantity, but there were enough crafters to distribute them.   Weaving became an art when the first Light Elves touched Astnyr. When they were created by Knowler, the race did not come with clothing, so some elves found a solution. There were many trees with silk and plants with cotton the elves could work with. There was no specific weaver who rose, but it was a combined effort for the first shirt to be made. After many attempts, the Light Elves made clothing that kept them warm in the region's weather. This also grew with some sense of decency. Clothing was to be worn when necessary.   The creation of the Crafters Guild led to a change in the profession and an upgrade in tools. Some Weavers preferred metal tools while others wanted wooden tools. They did not change the quality of the clothing, but it was just a preference. Some lucky Weavers became enriched with business and gold, such as Adriana Smith in the modern age. She and her apprentice took residence in Seaport, where the Crafters Guild lived.

Woodsmiths

Woodsmith by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Woodsmiths crafted wooden armor and weapons. Their services included the Druidic Order in Magick Glades/Savior's Enclave. After the second invasion of Magick Glades, woodsmiths moved to the Savior's Enclave to assist in building armor, weapons, and defenses.   The Woodsmiths established themselves well after the founding of the Druidic Order. There was a problem with keeping the peace with just cloth clothing. Some criminals killed more druids than they needed to in order to apprehend them. Nave decreed there needed to be a more efficient way to keep casualties low amongst the druids of the order.   The Archdruid Korthas Silvermoon researched this with a scholar, Moric Hazelnight. They researched each quality of wood within the trees of Magick Glades, concluding it was stronger than cloth armor. Moric crafted wooden armor for Korthas and they tested it against criminals who wished for vengeance against the order. The weapons the criminals used did not pierce or bludgeon through the wooden armor, hailing Moric as a hero of the Glades. Moric became the first ever Woodsmith after retiring from being a Scholar.   Some years afterwards, Korthas and Moric were the first gay marriage of Astnyr, uniting the Woodsmiths and Druidic Order together.

Miners

Miner by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Miners collected materials from Ironhammer's mountain mines. Blacksmiths and jewelsmiths used ore and gemstones. Sometimes weavers used these materials to embroider their created clothing. Alchemists used the glass miners gather from gems to make bottles for their potions.   Once Ironhammer finished construction, Mountain Dwarves explored the forest mountains. They found a massive amount of resources in a natural cave. Ore and gemstones were the names given to these resources. They dug recklessly at first, but Strection and Nave stopped them from doing so.   Nature had to be preserved in order for humanity to live in Astnyr. The miners followed every step Nave entrusted them with. In the present day, the mountains were preserved. Even with Strection's tyranny, he respected Nave's wish for the forest mountains.

Blacksmiths

Blacksmith by AuthorChase on HeroForge
The military commissioned blacksmiths to make armor for their soldiers. They rarely receive orders from common folk, which were from Bards or high-class citizens. The military, Bards, and high-class guardsmen specifically used the weapons created by Blacksmiths.   Blacksmiths first came to the crafting world when Ironhammer was being built. The Mountain Dwarves noticed how unpractical wood armor could be, with many openings to vital parts of mortal bodies. There was another issue with weapons, where many only had wooden staves. These Blacksmiths dug into the land to create mines for minerals and metal resources, including steel, iron, and gold.   Imora Hammerfall, a woman of steel and strength, made for a Light Paladin in need the first armor piece. She combined gold and steel for this armor and requested the help of Beight to infuse the armor with holy power. Once the Paladin took the armor into battle, their chance of survival increased significantly. Many Light Elves begged to be taught the craft by Imora and her fellow Dwarves, and she accepted them into the profession. Since then, much more armor and weapons helped the military and other parties protect themselves and others.

Jewelsmiths

Jewelsmith by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Jewelsmiths created jewelry for the high-class and jewel adorned armor/weapons for the military. These were merely for decorative purposes, but there may come a time when people use gemstones for magical purposes.   Jewelsmiths began their art after Ironhammer dug through the earth. Their mines held gems that would be suitable for jewelry and decorating armor. High-class citizens and the military also favored decorated weapons, making them very popular. There were jewelers that were very famous in the field, such as Talin Stormfury inside Ironhammer. The first jewelsmith did not exist, but some individuals retired from blacksmithing and chose to learn a new craft.   However, Jewelsmithing took a pause since Ironhammer barricaded its borders. This luxury service could not sustain itself without Ironhammer's help because the city owned the mines.

Alchemists

James Smith by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Alchemists were essential for Astnyr's health. Not only were the Life Druids taught how to heal their patients more effectively, but citizens of all cultures could gain medicine needed for common ailments or benefits. Retail alchemists made potions that helped citizens with fertility, friendship, happiness, love, lust, peace, and dreams.   Alchemy didn't come to Astnyr until the Humans migrated to the realm. These Humans taught the Druids the art, so they used it for medical purposes. Retail alchemists became a part of the Crafters Guild while other alchemy became a part of the Life Druid's training.   Alchemy had a brief history in Astnyr, but it was a much needed service. One alchemist, James Smith, taught every Life Druid in Magick Glades how to craft potions that would help their patients and in battle. Healing and resistance potions were the main teachings of alchemists to military forces.   Those that concentrated on the retail value of potions were primarily human through generations in Astnyr. They sold potions that would help with everyday ailments, but never took advantage of their customers. The alchemists of the Crafter's Guild agreed to work together and ensured that they satisfied every customer with the best of their abilities.
