Faerun Western Alliance
In 1482, the forces of Valindra Shadowmantle stunned the peoples of Faerun when they took advantage of the absence of the Little Warriors and utterly destroyed Neverwinter. Its people only survived because of the leadership of one Amber Mills, now Lady Deathsbane of Neverwinter, who singlehandedly defeated Valindra's undead armies. While she would always deny her role in Valindra's downfall, she proved a shrewd and indominable leader, and within two short years - and with much help from her allies, the Little Warriors - Neverwinter was rebuilt and became the most powerful city state on the sword coast.
That was fifteen years ago. Today, Lady Amber Deathsbane is first among equals of the Western Alliance, a league of kingdoms and independant city-states that spans the entire sword coast, the moonshae and Nelanther Isles, and the southern kingdoms of Amn, Tethyr and Calimshan. A golden acorn is being planted here, the first of its kind ever to take root outside Elanora, in the hope it will provide the local wizards a means of creating their own shield tokens and establishing the first outpost of the Guild. However, the work proceeds slowly. Rumours of another means to traverse the multiverse, a cheaper and easier means, have reached the Sword Coast from the east.
The Western Alliance was built on hope, but it is not impervious to fear and mistrust. It remains to be seen if Lady Deathsbane can hold together the fiercely independant folk of the Sword Coast, yet alone the more distant territories who pay homage to her.
The Western States currently want for very little, due to the wealth of the region. However the citizen's needs are primarly met by trade. There are local farms and mines, but if access to neighbouring trading partners is shut off, supplies can run low very quickly.
