Zephyr Luthar

A fairy wizard and member of Rakka's Heroes. Charming and mischievous, he was the lone survivor of a spectral attack on the party in the middle of the Arrayas Ocean. After a month of recovering from the trauma he went back out to sea to defeat the undead spirits once and for all, only to be killed by a swarm of specters aboard a ghost ship. His body was buried in Qilthani by Kirby a couple of weeks later.

Zeph loves life and wants to live it to the fullest exploring and learning as much as he can, including new forms of magic and even making his own. He wants to help people and be remembered even after death for the good he has brought to the world. Zeph wants to catch The Red Whisper to find out their reason for living a life of crime, and also because he loves the thrill of the chase. He wants to learn music, learn new and powerful magics, and even make some magic of his own.   He views the world as one giant adventure but also as a cruel place for the little people (No, I don't mean height): the poor, the orphans, the homeless, those who get stepped on left and right. The worst kind of person is the noble who abuses their power, unlike Zephyr and other nobles who use their power for good. Those higher-ups will feel Zeph's wrath, not in combat but through elaborate set-ups with his excellent forgery skills. Zeph fears becoming a person who abuses his power like those nobles do as well as not being able to make a difference in the world.   Zeph cannot stand the abuse of power and those who wield it against the weak. He judges people by their actions, not their wealth; it doesn't matter or if they're human, tiefling, or even an ogre.   Zeph puts on his goggles then takes them off right away when anxious or angry.

Personal history

Zephyr had trouble learning the basic magics of his fairy kin. Even the most natural magics gave him trouble taking him years to learn flight and make items his size. When he managed to shrink a pair of goggles for the first time, they never left his side. Unsatisfied with his education in the Feywild, Zeph fled his homeland to uncover new magic and answers on Ekal's material plane. He ventured towards a magical place full of boredom and horror known as the 'library', along the way discovering the terrible ways people abused and oppressed one another.Zeph used his fey abilities to sneak inside the library and spent countless hours studying the arcane forces in the world of Ekal. The library's human owners one day chased him out for infiltrating one of the forbidden sections, but the knowledge he gained completely changed the way Zephyr perceived the world's magic and its uses. He fled the city and searched for ways to put his newfound powers to good use, but in the process he decided to avenge the nobles who abused their influence in the city. He forged documents, started rumors, and ruined their names in the eyes of the other noble families. In one scheme, he faked several documents to make a nobleman's daughter seem like a patroness of a local brothel as punishment for how she ordered her guards to beat a homeless man.   The fairy's magic and forging abilities led him to befriend a red-haired bounty hunter named Zayin Sephiran during his search for a master thief known as The Red Whisper. Zeph agreed to help by forging documents that allowed Zayin access to the ruins of Kassadeia, eager to assist in a high-stakes chase. When Zayin's hunt for the Red Whisper began Zeph followed them into the ruins to see how it would turn out. The thief and bounty hunter raced through ruined buildings and towers at a breakneck pace, and the fairy quickly became lost in an abandoned bookstore.   Reminded of his old days in the library, he came across a large book that appeared still in amazing condition despite years of neglect. The spells written inside the tome ignited Zeph's curiousity, smuggling the book out of Kassadeia with him to read in privacy. Some innate magical force inside the book began to bond with Zephyr, revealing new secrets to the fairy that would take years to fully unravel. Knowing that a project like this required absurd amounts of gold and time, he joined the adventuring group Rakka's Heroes to fund his research and keep an eye on his friend Zayin. When Zayin passed away in a fight with a pack of gnolls Zeph became an active-duty member of the RH and joined Mickal Irakosk and Pino Chio in Qilthani.   -Credit to Aphex for backstory
