Varahossthold

Purpose / Function

The Varahossthold serves as the main base of the Vigilants of Varahosst. All of the holy warriors in the order eat, sleep, train, and live within the keep. In addition, dragons of Varahosst are regularly welcomed to the keep and are even allowed to store treasure and items within the keep if they feel the need to spread out their hoards.

Defenses

The Varahossthold's walls are shaped like a pentagon, with each corner's vertex being a tower shaped like one of the heads of Varahosst. Each of the towers is imbued with an elemental attack similar to the type of dragon it depicts. In addition, the garrison consists of dragonborn paladins and is sometimes reinforced by dragons.

History

The Varahossthold was built by zealots at the behest of Xorenath. It was blessed both by Varahosst and Xorenath soon after its creation. After the Ashland battle against Tiamat and her army, Xorenath harvested all of the necessary ingredients to perform an unknown ritual called the Chromatic Union, though he chose not to go through with the ritual for fear of what could occur. Instead, he decided to have the items magically preserved so that another individual could one day choose to attempt the ritual.
