Geography
Mount Blackcloud is a massive volcano in the southeast of Vukeron.
History
Mount Blackcloud was raised by an elementalist in Era 0 after using powerful ritual magic. The elementalist fortified the massive volcano and opened a portal to the plane of magma, from which he would call forth and nine fire and earth elementals. The elementalist, however, didn't account for how the portal, as well as the elementals, would affect the volcano and it erupted, killing him.
After the elementalist's death, a group of azer migrated from the elemental planes to the volcano by using the portal inside of it. The azer then stabilized the volcano with powerful magic and built a construct race to help them with labor. These constructs, obsidian humanoids called fireforged, eventually had their blueprints given to the mountain dwarves of Khar-Garom who used them to create the vect. The azer also welcomed fire genasi, magma genasi, and goliaths of fire giant descent into their new home.
In Era 1, 1020, the archmage of the azer that would periodically renew that magic that stabilized the volcano was kidnapped by a volcanic dragon from the plane of magma who desired to use his magic for his own schemes. Eventually, in 1023 of the First Era, the Crimson Dragons stumbled upon the azer and, in return for their aid against the Dark Druid, agreed to rescue their archmage and get the essence of a primal elemental of earth and a primal elemental of fire to preserve the wards on the volcano.
In Era 1, 1223, the Cult of the Dragon attacked the azer with a great red wyrm named Tarvyrian. The Cult of the Dragon and Tarvyrian drive the azer out and perform a ritual to summon Tiamat to the material plane. Tiamat and the Cult of the Dragon left, allowing Tarvyrian and his minions to claim the volcano. Tarvyrian was also given the task of guarding the Draakhorn. After Tiamat was summoned, a group of wizards performed a ritual in Mount Blackcloud that caused the Ashfall.
