Queen Rudr Sjøsprøyt

Queen Rudr Sjøsprøyt (a.k.a. Mother Aquarius)

In The Elemental Plane  there exists four kingdoms, one for each of the cardinal elements. However, for years The Kingdom of Silver Waters  was in a civil war between the surface, snow and ice-powered Genasi , and the ocean Genasi of water and Seafoam. This was mainly over resources, each side vying for the Heart of the Progenitor to increase the landmass of frozen fields of snow or cold deep water respectively. But, in the material realm year of 978 AC, the two sides would cease their war when the two heirs apparent for each side, Brynhildr Isøks for the surface and Rudr Sjøsprøyt for the water, joined together in political and romantic union, ushering in the current era of peace between the two realms, which served to expand their control as well as beat back the invaders from the other countries who had been making use of their struggle.   Queen Rudr Sjøsprøyt is the picturesque ideal of a classically noble princess. She is gentle yet unshakable, learned yet curious, regal yet humble. When she was born and brought up in the midst of the surface vs sea kingdom wars, she was kept isolated and sheltered from the realities of it for years, until she ventured forth on her own accord in an attempt to bring an end to the war. While she got captured, she ended up doing just that with the help of another sheltered girl who would be queen one day, her later wife Queen Brynhildr Isøks.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Queen Rudr is moderately healthy, but having several of her internal organs tampered with or outright removed has left her in a reduced capacity, where she can hardly go further than the reaches of her own castle by herself, and regularly requires healing to get through the day.

Body Features

Alongside her long, flowing locks, Queen Rudr has areas of white vitiligo that some liken to the seafoam of crashing waves.

Physical quirks

Queen Rudr uses gestures when she talks, especially when she begins to rant. Alongside learning Common Sign Language from material realm books, some could say she's developed her own personal sign language from the different gestures she uses when she speaks.

Specialized Equipment

Queen Rudr has a special artifact woven into her crown that increases her magical power and control of the seawater, but using it too much can cause her pain, as she uses part of its power to regulate her bodily functions after the vampire incident.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Queen Rudr wasn't born to the then rulers of The Silver Waters Queen Perle and King Rubin. Instead, she was discovered by the faithful of Typhon and was found to be a child favored by the ancient being. As such, she was taken into the royal court and raised alongside the children of the royal couple and received all the best that life could offer. Of course, she had to combat jealousy and enmity from her siblings, and other courtiers, but her desire to become a good ruler and successor outweighed the shame she felt sometimes.   Her life was rather uneventful for many years. She knew the war was going on but had been kept away from the more serious topics of discussion by Perle and Rubin. As such, she hadn't really been prepared to face total battle tactics and decided to strike off on her own for a diplomatic mission. In her mind, she was sure that if she could speak with King Jerv of the surface, the two of them could come to a misunderstanding and end the damage the surface was doing to the sea. Thousands of yards of coral beds had been ruined by their tactics, along with the death via water contamination and war skirmishes.   However, when she arrived at the surface she was unceremoniously ambushed, lost nearly all of her entourage, and captured by King Jerv's men.   It was as she was caged that fate began to turn in her favor, and the favor of the future of the kingdom, as the future Queen, Brynhildr Isøks was assigned to watch her cage. As much as Rudr tried to keep a strong, dignified face, she soon became overcome by emotions at her first task, her first attempt at diplomacy, had gone so terribly, and that she would end up troubling her family so much.   At this shocking display of emotion, Brynhildr was taken aback and pressed Rudr about what was troubling her so much. On her side, all she knew of the sea kingdom was that they were responsible for flooding low-land pieces of the surface kingdom, and sending up creatures from the deep to attack their merchant ships. Brynhildr had been taught that they were cold-blooded totalitarians, without a shred of remorse for the surface folk.   As Rudr fell into her habit of sharing far more than she needed to, both women came to the realization that each side was going to keep pointing fingers at the other unless something was done on both sides. Rudr begged the soldier to take her back to the sea so that she could work it out, and Brynhildr did just that, both of them with faces and eyes full of determination.   After a lengthy retreat, with the help of unexpected rebels, the two of them made it back to the sea and promised to meet each other again in 30 days.   When Rudr returned, her adoptive parents were mortified, and angry, but Rudr silenced them with a glance as cold as the darkest depths of the ocean.   She admonished them from keeping reality away from her, for giving her all the knowledge she could ask for but not what she needed, and for the aggressive tactics they had taken on while claiming to be peaceful victims. She understood war was war, but she could not excuse blatant propaganda.   As she raged and ranted, following about 15 "And another thing!"s, the water began to whip around her, and in her hand appeared The Heart of The Progenitor, as the magic within it recognized the spirit of Rudr over the current rulers, and believed that she was ready.   As Typhons chosen one, she used those 30 long days to tear the oceanic aristocracy a new one, and at the end of it had taken the title of Queen for herself. When she came to meet Brynhildr once more, both of them had ascended to rule and decided to create a treaty together, addressing the issues of both sides of the whole kingdom.   As they campaigned around both the surface and the sea, the two of them grew ever closer, first as contemporaries, then as friends, and finally as lovers. By the time the campaign was finished, and the treaty was fully signed and agreed upon, their union as individuals was also completed.   There has been much peace in the 30 years since that day. There are still constant struggles with each of the other elemental kingdoms, but those are minor at this point in history, and are a part of everyday life. However, there was one incident that still shook Queen Rudr to her core...   One day, about 10 years after the treaty had been formed, Queen Rudr was on a solitary walk through her gardens, as Brynhildr was dealing with an issue raised by one of the Jarls on the surface, when she was suddenly accosted on all sides by strange intruders, wearing all black robes, with a strange red insignia on the front. She fought them off well, using her home advantage against them, but they kept coming and soon wore her out and captured her.   When she awoke, she found herself not underwater, and in a strange land where there were none of her familiar colors to be seen. Red, Black, Silver, and Gold, were the only colors that existed in that dark realm. She was in a cold room of stone and metal tools and strapped to a table. As she struggled, she was visited by a pale woman, with an extravagant lab coat, and a devilish smile.   The woman introduced herself as a Countess out of perverse respect, but nothing more. She had taken Rudr for one reason, to operate and examine a pure elemental in physical form. She was a scientist of the elements, and an exceptionally cruel one at that, and the Queen made an ample target.   Queen Rudr was trapped for 7 days and 7 nights as the cruel scientist examined her insides, ran countless tests, and played with her life like a toy. At the end of the 7th night, that all came to an end when a squadron of royal knights, led personally by Brynhildr, rushed into the castle where she was being kept and freed her, forcing the scientist to flee for the time being, and arriving just in time to save Rudr from her sordid state.   The damage she had received could never truly be healed, but she is able to live now, albeit with some secondary aid. However, their problems with Vampires have not been alleviated yet, as they have been invading recently to steal elemental cores from monsters and genasi alike, and have taken a part of The Isle of Steam, a land where the Kingdom of Copper Flames and Silver Waters intersect, and those vampires bear the same strange red insignia.

Gender Identity

Rudr presents herself as female and has done so since she was the age of 7. Who she was before was known only to her parents, and all past records of her former name and gender have been changed, save for absolutely necessary medical requirements.

Sexuality

Rudr identifies as a Lesbian and has since a young age when she delved through a book about orientations.

Education

As a learned magic-user, and princess of the sea kingdom, Rudr grew up with a good education, and took to all of her subjects with ferocious passion and speed, quickly outpacing any mentor that was sent her way, and reading all of the books in the castle's library by the time she was 20. Socially she has a long way to go, and her knowledge of combat tactics is lacking, but that's mostly because she will find every other solution to a problem before even considering combat.

Employment

Rudr was brought up to be the ideal princess. Learned, kind, yet stubborn to a fault when the situation called for it. Until she took the throne as Queen, there wasn't much she was allowed to do, but afterward, she often went to the ocean cities and settlements and learned how to perform the basic tasks of the people, in order to better understand their needs.

Accomplishments & Achievements

While Brynhildr and Rudr did equal parts to unite the two kingdoms, Brynhildr puts most of the credit on Rudrs shoulders, as the surface queen wouldn't have rebelled if not for the massive risk Rudr took.   Additionally, Rudr is publically credited for the successful trade relations with the other kingdoms, save for the Copper Flames, who Brynhildr handles.

Failures & Embarrassments

While it ended up working out, her initial capture by Jerv's forces was a rather big blow to Queen Rudr's confidence for many years.   Additionally, falling victim to the machinations of the Unknown Vampire Countess is a failing the kingdom has felt, as it has left Queen Rudr in a critical condition.

Mental Trauma

Ever since her kidnapping by the Vampire Countess, Queen Rudr has a fear of silver knives, and not having the color blue around her.

Intellectual Characteristics

Rudr frantically speeds through subjects of learning at any given time and tends to spill out the knowledge she's found at a moment's notice. It can get to the point where she can ramble for hours forgetting to eat or drink while ranting about a topic. Thankfully, in the company of Brynhildr, she has a partner who loves to listen, while taking care to provide the enthusiastic queen sustenance.

Morality & Philosophy

Rudr believes in equity for all, and that those who are more privileged in society have a responsibility to benefit those who are less so. The right to rule might be a divine power passed through lineage, but that doesn't mean that those who rule can be callous about the wellbeing of their people.
