Introduction:

Sidar is a Rocheron-like world on the far side of the Founder Galaxy. It sits in the middle of the territory of The Scourge. The planet is home to a primitive civilization, a reptilian species that calls themselves "overens." The only reason the planet has not been devoured by the Scourge is because of the massive Precursor Shield placed around the planet thousands of years ago by the Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron.

Description:

Sidar has 89% of Rocheron's gravity and 21% oxygen in its atmosphere, making it easily habitable to most species. The planet is mostly land, with massive lakes spread throughout the landmass. Much of the surface is desert, but there are plentiful amounts of forest land across the globe.
The overens were originally native to the deserts of Sidar, and are well suited to a desert environment. While they have spread across the globe, they still prefer environments with high heat and low humidity.

Shielding the Planet:

When Sidar was first discovered, the overens had not yet developed civilization. The planet was classified as a standard primitive world and secretly observed from a distance. Over the course of 300,000 years, the overens developed society and become more and more advanced, until they entered an industrial revolution about 3,000 years ago. Unfortunately, this was when the Scourge first entered the galaxy and began to consume every planet they could reach, which would soon include Sidar.
The fate of Sidar was heavily debated when the threat of the Scourge was revealed to the public. Some people wanted to save the overens from the Scourge and ensure that they survived. Others wanted to stick to the Empire's strict stance on primitive worlds: they should be left alone and remain unaware of alien life until they develop the technology to travel the stars independently. After debate, the Machine Emperor declared that a compromise would be made: a massive shield capable of covering an entire planet would be placed around Sidar. This shield is one of the last of its kind that exists,
