Urban Halfling Ethnicity in Eberron | World Anvil

Urban Halfling

Some Halflings have traded the nomadic lifestyle of the Talenta Halfling for a more urban approach living in major cities across Khorvaire. While many of these halflings are associated with one of the two dragonmarked houses some are simply independent halflings wanting something different for their lives. Some urban halflings have never seen their native homeland, while others (mostly those associated with the dragonmarked houses) switch between city clothes and nomadic traditions depending on where they find themselves. There is a fine line between the halflings embracing their homeland and heritage and remaining truly neutral as all dragonmarked houses are charged to be.

Major organizations

House Jorasco and House Ghallanda are major institutions in the Five Nations. Ghallanda has maintained stronger ties to the Plains than Jorasco, but for the house members who live in the Five Nations, the Plains are more a part of their peoples’ colorful past than something one typically embraces.   The Boromar Clan has dominated the criminal underworld of Sharn for centuries. For the most part, Boromar focuses on non-violent crime… theft, smuggling, gambling… but the halflings are willing to get their hands dirty when they have to. And recently, they’ve had to. Refugees from Cyre and the monstrous forces of Daask are shaking up the established order in Sharn, and the family is going to have to fight to hold onto its kingdom.
