Blue Blazes Workshop

Metal Works and Engineering

Purpose / Function

Blue Blazes is a public workshop for metalworking, smithing and tinkering/engineering. Any and all citizens of Vareholm are free to come and utilize the forge under the supervision of a trained smithy/engineer or hire their services.

History

It was constructed by Casey and Taranis Sköll in the year 241 and was named for the oddly colored flames of burning driftwood when the forge was first lit. Casey provided tinkering and engineering services to the town while Taranis performed smith work. During her time working at the workshop, Casey employed two apprentices: Uritra Yevernin, a twenty-something gnomish woman who had a bit of experience tinkering and often looked after the shop when Casey was not there, and Elliot, a 12-year-old boy who is just beginning his training. Also, Casey's friends, Katrin and Lisa, could often be found there when not working at the docks.   After the death of Taranis later in the year 241, his shop was inherited by Talía Hardbrow. When she left Idriell with Casey, the shop was purchased by Mirabella Caleah. In the weeks leading up to Casey's departure from Idriell, her mentor, Dorian Glockner, arrived in Vareholm to take over management of the building and to continue Uritra's training in her stead. A few months later, Dorian declared Uritra's training complete and transferred ownership to her.
