Grant Ferryman
Grant is an 18 year old street kid who was kidnapped in The Sink by T-SEC soldiers. He was Sam's best friend/mentor when Sam lived on the streets. His rescue is Sam's driving force in Anamnesis and Gen Codex.

Black Arrow turned Grant into a Cyborg using nanobot technology. He is the first Cyborg created this way.

Personal history
Grant is the son of Chester Chet Ferryman. He was a child when his father joined The Savant Uprising in China. When Chet came back injured, he moved their family around a lot and Grant never stayed in one place long. After years of being away, Chet took the family back to The Sink, where he grew up, thinking it had been long enough since the Savant Uprising that they would be safe.
Unfortuantely, they were not and the Vox Tristan came into their home when Grant was only 13 and tried to get info from Chet on where Mara, JR and the rest of their squad was. Chet didnt know and the Vox shot him.
Grant will try to block this memory as he grows up, but only successfully forgets what the person looked like who killed his dad.
