Jenelle Fuentez (a.k.a. The Invisible Girl)
Jenelle is a bright, inquisitive girl who is outgoing and has an infectiously optimistic personality.
Throughout the story Jenelle is tricked into becoming the human vessel of an Alp from the Nightmare Realm who feeds off of anger and vengeance. In an attempt to gain Jenelle's trust, the alp takes the form of Griselda Liwanag, a childhood friend who was murdered by Madison Quinlan.
Starting off as an imaginary figure in the mirror, Griselda becomes Jenelle's confident, with whom she is able to share her deepest secrets. Jenelle vents to Griselda about the bullying she experiences, which feeds into Griselda's power and influence over Jenelle.
While Griselda believes herself to have total influence from young Jenelle, it could not be further from the truth. In her attempts to gain influence over Jenelle, Griselda often warns Jenelle of her future, how things will play out and how, if Jenelle were to allow Griselda could help her conquer her foes should Jenelle help her cross over to the human realm. Sensing this information may be vital, Jenelle draws seen of the foretold future and writes stories about a Princess (Jenelle Fuentez), a wise Prince (Ricardo Sá Cully), a tin-lady (Robo Neko) a mysterious Wizardess (Neko ), a rogue with a heart of gold (Asher Katzman) a direwolf (Picasso Sá Cully) an inventor (Hakon Áslaugsson), a dancer (Karandeep Kaur), a monster (Artemio Angelopoulos), a fierce huntress (Apollonia Angelopoulos), a swash buckling Pirate (Sally Schmetterling) and a few other Knights to make up an army that fights evil. Griselda would tell Jenelle how each situation will fail without Griselda's help. However, Jenelle hopes that if these prophesies do come true, her future self and her friends will be able to use her stories and paintings to help save the world without ever employing Griselda's help.
To protect her predictions, Jenelle puts her stories and paintings in time capsules and hides them around Avalon with the hopes that her future self will find them when the time is right.
When Rick comes to fill the void in Jenelle's life, Griselda loses influence over Jenelle. Drastic measures are required for Griselda to maintain her hold on Jenelle, leading to Jenelle finally being tricked into allowing Griselda not only to have influence over her mind, but now her body as well.
While Jenelle is sweet, kind, and does no wrong, Griselda exacts revenge on all those who push Jenelle's kind persona around.
Griselda's misdeeds at first are trivial, accounting for the lack of power and influence she holds. However, Jenelle eventually learns to control over Griselda, seeing her as an necessary evil. The world isn't build for delicate snowflakes, and Griselda has the power and determination to toughen Jenelle up. This allows Jenelle to transform into a sweet little wallflower, into a hardened warrior.
In her quest to travel Europe and Asia to study martial arts, particularly following the path of her ancestor, Yim Wing-chun and her master, Ng Mui. Jenelle also studies meditation techniques to help her control Grisela and lock her away in the back of her mind.
However, Jenelle's control over Griselda could very well be a facade. Who knows what could upset the balance. Could Griselda herself one day gain full control?

This technology was acquired through Griselda, who unable to shape shift while in Jenelle's body, had to find alternative technologies to compensate for her lost powers. Hakon Áslaugsson also designs gravity defying boots that allow Jenelle to temporarily jump extremely high so that Jenelle is capable of running her spear through her enemies from above.

- 1994: Jenelle was born in Glendale, Avalon
- 2000: Begins school at St Arthur’s Academy for Girls where she befriends Madison Quinlan and another Filipino girl, Griselda Liwanag, a soft spoken and shy girl. Madison grows jealous of Griselda, as she was Jenelle's friend first. However, Jenelle and Griselda live next door to one another. Therefore, it's simply a matter of proximately that allows the girls to spend more time with one another and grow close. Griselda marvels at Jenelle's creative skills and frequently asks Jenelle to paint portraits for her.
- One day Madison invites Griselda out for a walk in the forest. While the two girls haven't really spent a lot of time together, Griselda wants to mend fences so that the three girls could hang out in harmony. However, Madison has other plans. The two girls come upon an abandoned well. Madison yells at Griselda about how she's stealing her friend (Jenelle). When Sister Griselda goes missing, Jenelle is utterly devastated. The situation is made worse when she is placed in Mrs. Quinlan’s class.
- 2000: Jenelle starts getting bullied by Madison, starts retreating to Glendale woods to avoid her school mates. In the forest she finds St. Augustine Monastery where she sets up a fort. It is a secret location where she can paid and write, without having her parents question why she isn't out playing with her schoolmates. At night Jenelle dreams about Sister Griselda.
- 2000: One night Jenelle dreams about Sister Griselda walking toward a secret room that has been boarded up. Curiosity strikes and Jenelle searches the monastery until she finds the secret room. Jenelle pries the boards off and opens the room. Inside she finds a room with a big book in a language she doesn’t recognize, a bed, a skeleton, and an ancient looking mirror. After getting over her squeamishness, Jenelle puts the remains in a box and buries them. She adopts the room as her art studio. Eventually she notices that her reflection doesn’t always match her movements.
- 2000: After a few months of visiting her secret room, Jenelle finally freaks out after attempting to “trick” her reflection into making a mistake. The reflection responds to her, telling her to calm down and assuring Jenelle that she is a friend. When Jenelle asks for the reflection’s name, the reflection offers to show her true form, which ends up being Sister Griselda.
- 2001: Sister Griselda coaches Jenelle through her first school year. Offering friendly advice and encouraging her to continue her art. When Jenelle complains about Madison's bullying, Sister Griselda’s advice is initially helpful, but slowly gets more and more aggressive. She coaches Jenelle to stand up for herself. This sometimes goes so far that Jenelle verges on being the bully to Madison and her friends. Sister Griselda also tells her secrets about Glendale such as a secret factory deep within Glendale Forest.
- 2002: One day while Jenelle is exploring the forest she stumbles upon the abandoned paint factory Sister Griselda told her about. Inside she is surprised to hear wailing and crying of various children and animals caged within the facility. The first cage she comes across belongs to Ricardo Sá Cully . Jenelle offers Rick some of her lunch, French fries, which Rick happily snatches up. Over the course of a month, Jenelle visits the factory every day to bring Rick and some of the others food. The guards are lazy and rarely check on the captives, preferring to relax in their private lounge that’s made up to look like a gaudy hotel lobby with couches, potted plants, food, etc. One day Jenelle looks in on the guards and sees he’s napping. Hiding behind a potted plant Jenelle slowly inches forward until finally nabbing the key from the guard’s waistband. Jenelle frees Rick and the others, though this results in the captives making a great deal of noise and waking the guard. Calling for backup, most of the captives are recaptured. Rick and Jenelle are only able to escape by hiding in an unoccupied bear’s den. Jenelle takes Rick to her new teacher, Ms. Beatrice Cully , who contacts police and gives temporarily gives Rick a home. When police are unable to find any information about Rick, Ms. Cully gives Rick a permanent home.As Rick and Jenelle become better friends, Griselda warns Jenelle not to get close to him. Ignoring Griselda’s warnings and welcomes Rick into her forest fortress. Griselda begs Jenelle not to let anyone know about the room, a promise Jenelle honours. Jenelle boards up the room and only enters it when she’s alone.
- 2006: Over the years Griselda complains about how lonely she is now that she seldom sees Jenelle. She asks Jenelle to help her become “real.” She instructs Jenelle to look in the mysterious book and helps her recite and conduct a ritual that allows Griselda to possess Jenelle’s body. Jenelle is interrupted by a curious Samba, which prevents Griselda from taking full control of Jenelle’s body
