Ma'liki is one of the Archangels of Sanctum and a member of the High Council of Sanctum. Born from the Citadel of Light during The Godswar, Ma'liki was a loyal servant of the Lady Arishanne. After her death, Ma'liki joined the newly formed High Council of Sanctum, and stepped up as a ruler of The Light after the truce negotiated by Bahamut between Helmvor and Tisrendel. Ma'liki has assisted in guiding the Heavens ever since, often from the safety of Sanctum and his home in the Cloisters of Destiny.

While Ma'liki prefers to be a distant diety and has not cultivated a large following in the Known Realms, he does intervene from time to time in the affairs of the Elder Races, giving them visions, prophecies and dreams of may come. This has resulted in a small following of Ma'liki on Earedar outside of the Church.

A growing rift emerged between Ma'liki and Araneos after the trials of Savanne and Azreal. In both cases Ma'liki argued heavily against their expulsion from the Council, and while he was able to slake Araneos' anger for Savanne, he was unable to assist Azreal, precipitating his fall. Out of all six of the other Archangels, only Ma'liki voted to allow Azreal to remain in his seat.

While Ma'liki rarely joins the host of the Light on the battlefields of the Nether Abyss, he did so during the Infernal Crusade alongside Tinareth, Bahamut and Araneos at the gates of Rancor. Ma'liki did not distinguish himself during the battle, preferring instead to help guide and advise Araneos. Since the end of the Age of Shadows Ma'liki has spent all of his time within his Cloisters, constantly in a state of foresight.

Faiths, Cults and Organizations

Church of Light- The Church is the largest and most powerful religious organization in the Known Realms. Most popular amongst the Elder Races, the Church is dedicated to the preservation of the Light's teaching and subservience to the Lady's will. They protect the weak, attend to the poor, and are a beacon of hope in times of darkness. While sometimes this mission can be lost or corrupted within the Church, they still hold great influence over most of Earedar. There are many smaller orders and fraternities within the Church, the most well-known being the Oathsworn.
High Council of Sanctum- The ruling council of Sanctum, the High Council rules over the forces of the Light across the Known Realms. Their leader is Araneos, Archangel of Honor and Protector of the Realms. All followers of the Light recognize him as the leader of our Lady's Church, and the reach of the council extends across the known universe.
Interpreters of Fate- An order dedicated to chronicling and even sometimes interpreting the prophecies, visions and dreams given by Ma'liki, they are a small organization limited to the Inner Realms and within the Cloisters itself. Venerating all beings of the Light, they believe it is their role to serve Ma'liki as he attempts to guide the Elder Races from destruction.
