Aqi Talúsix - Tree of Elements

The Aqi Talúsix is the Elaqitan World Tree and the driving force of elemental magic for the four Elaqitels. Any Elaqitan who stands before it must be amazed by its height of 653 meters, trunk girth of almost 280 meters and huge leafy crown. The "unmagic" counterpart is the Idacian mycelium beneath the continent of humans.

Today the World Tree stands in the middle of Aqila, the uncrowned capital of the elements on the island of Aqitalú. At the foot of the tree, the Sacred Temple of Aqila harmoniously fits into its structure and seems to be in symbiosis with it, as the temple has never been destroyed by the power of the tree in all its years of existence.

The Creation of the World Tree

"Once upon a quarrel, four gods each planted a seed of the elements earth, fire, water and air in the center of the island of Aqitalú. Four tribes grew, entwining each other, becoming stronger and growing to the center of the sky of Elaqitan. During When a colossal crown of multicolored foliage formed, the roots of the trees snaked like veins across the island to the four continents, descending, spreading, and ending only when they reached the center of each Elaqitel From there sprang landscapes of mountains, rivers, bodies of water, and deserts, spreading outward like flowing water.   The crown of the tree now formed innumerable colorful, beautiful and species-rich blossoms, which only closed again with darkness. When the flowers opened for the second time, thousands of seeds spilled out of them and spread across the continents. Where they fell, living beings and plants developed.   When the tree had grown and blossomed in full splendor, each god held a hand to the tree bark of his element and magical runes were created, which absorbed the entire power of the gods and from then on distributed them over the roots on the four continents of the elements.

Physiologie

Originally, the tree grew together from four individual shoots, each sprouting from a seed containing an element. This resulted in an unusual look. The individual four shoots can still be seen today, as the bark of each shoot carries the luminous color of its element - yellow to red tones for fire, green and brown tones for earth, blue and turquoise tones for water and light sky-colored tones, which also contain pink, orange or purple for air.

Even if you touch the tree, you can almost feel the respective element, since the bark transfers the physiological properties such as temperature and texture to the bark.

In addition, it is something very special when the individual flowers of the respective element bloom. Although there is no real climate zone on the island and therefore no season, each elemental flower has a different flowering time, which could also be understood as a season. Due to the different flowers, it always smells different in the entire city. Despite the high number of flowers, these scents are never overpowering, but only resemble a delicate touch.

As the tree grew taller, the runes of the elements appeared on the outside of the bark in some places, shimmering in red, green, blue and white in the dark.

Power of the elements

The tree's magic is distributed to Brictælgis, Layida, Téshàn and Ulűri̋qi̋ through the roots reaching to the middle of the four continents . To date, it has not been possible to clarify how the tree "feeds". However, it is believed that the four seeds had so much elemental energy when they were planted that the tree needed no other nutrients to live.

Although the elemental forces are transferred to the continents via the roots, the real power of the tree is believed to be in the runes, from which small fields of force emanate. If you touch them, small plasma flashes appear between the rune and the toucher. These are harmless to the person laying on the hand. But it is believed that they are a kind of protection for the runes or a shield for the tree. Several pilgrims had already tried to immortalize themselves in the bark of the tree, but to date none have succeeded.

The runes are often carved on small pieces of wood or sold as pendants to traveling pilgrims. The traders claim that the pieces of wood are made only from dead and fallen bark or pieces of the tree. This is said to further increase the magical power of an Elaqitanian. Maybe just pure superstition?

This is such a bright and beautiful article! The actual creation story included was a lovely touch. I like things like that, where they feel like slices of the world, from the world.

What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark?

I am amazed with what ease you managed to blend the creation myth of tree, magic and living beings with the facts of the trees existence today! Additionally the way the tree influences its city and the culture in general is very nicely done!

Yours truly, Nino.

This is a lovely article visually and I love the tree origins myth in it - very appropriate. It would have been nice to have more crosslinks with your world - and good mouseovers! I use them a lot when a works sparks my curiosity.

Thank you for your nice comment and your suggestions. Crosslinks are planned, but at the moment there are still too few English-language articles that I could link to one another. By mouseovers did you mean tooltips? The use of tooltips is also planned. So far I've only really used it for one article because I already knew the necessary information. I will certainly try in the future, but at the moment the world is just too small to be able to use crosslinks and tooltips properly and better.

Don't worry - it's just a suggestion! So when you do an article, if you go to the design tab, under where you put the image tag to change the image at the top of your article, there is a field called "Excerpt" and one called "Mouseover Snippet" any text you put in the first shows up on the article block for your article under the mini-image, the mouseover snippet shows up when someone hovers over a link to that article. I like these features a lot since they help people understand something about that word without actually clicking a link.
