Scorpion's Tail Range

The Scorpion's Tail Range is the southernmost extent of the The Great Western Mountains where the mountains follow the southern coast of Yfel. On the west, the Scorpion's Tail Range begins at the pass through the mountains west of Isolabirre.

Geography

The Scorpion's Tail Range follows the southern coast of Yfel, and is an extension of The Great Western Mountains. The mountains of the Scorpion's Tail Range are not as high as the mountains further north in the Great Western Mountains (especially not as high as the enormous, towering peaks where the Great Southern Range juts east from the Great Western Mountains), but some peaks are still quite tall, reaching up to 15,000 feet (4600 meters) in height. Being fairly far south, the highest mountains of the Scorpion's Tail Range are covered in snow, ice, and glaciers year round. The lower peaks and hills along the east coast of Yfel are rugged and rocky, covered in scrubby trees, shrubs, grasses, and other plants adapted to higher altitudes.

Ecosystem

The plants and animals of the Scorpion's Tail Range are typical of high-latitude mountain ranges, with a huge variation in the variety of flora and fauna depending on the latitude and altitude. There is essentially no human population to be found, except at the small port cities of Soriminto and Heiminto, but there is a large number of Orkrim tribes, some Elvirim tribes, and some Dwarvirim villages. Savannah Wolf packs are common on the slopes and foothills of the mountains toward the central plains and savannahs of Yfel.
