    Portals between the Feywild and the Material Plane began to spontaneously appear, especially near the lairs of dragons. Fey creatures began to cross over into the Material Plane, initially only a few curious and adventurous individuals.

    An alliance of several eladrin nobility decided to send a large host to conquer a portion of the Material Plane, and promptly fell into infighting and splintered into separate clans. These eladrin eventually became the high elves.

    With the discovery of and obsession with collecting gemstones, many dragons discovered that humanoids, especially Dwarves, were quite useful for extracting gemstones. Red Dragons and Blue Dragons especially made extensive use of humanoid slaves to mine rubies and sapphires and all kinds of precious gemstones.

    Tired of being forced to mine gemstones, an alliance of dwarves, high elves, yuan-ti and other enslaved people rebelled, using the magic they'd learnt to fight their overlords. Many dragons were killed by their minions, others gave up on holding their slaves.

    Part of the Curse that created arcane necromancy, the night of blood was the night the Cult of the Arcane ritually sacrificed any divine spellcaster serving a death god that they could find, to steal their divine necromantic power to fuel the ritual. Specifically, they targeted followers of Paeris, Ilyrana and Inia.
