The Celestial Wedding Gift

The magical Ring of Space was created long ago when the great magician Lyorn made it for his lover Dahea. It was a big celebration with glamour and party.

Summary

The magician Lyorn was known for his over-the-top tricks and shows of magic. But no one had prepared for the wedding gift he made for his wife Dahea.

The universe was young. Stars were born and died quickly, spitting hot matter around in space for new things to form. Beings with a lot of power walked the earth.

A magician by the name of Lyorn was specialized in space magic. He played with his powers: hurling meteors over the sky; igniting stars; creating wonders whenever he wanted.

He was often distracted by himself, barely spending time with other beings. One day, while he was out making sparks fly in the night sky, a woman came up to him. She was lost and had seen his lights, so she had looked around for the being behind the show to ask for directions. When Lyorn saw her he fell head over heels in love with her.

When he laid his eyes on her time slowed down. She was just the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. Her hair was like the fluffiest of clouds; her figure full and smooth; and her eyes, oh her eyes, they reflected his sparks in a way he had never seen before. He lost his breath in her vicinity.

In the beginning he tried to impress her with powerful shows of magic. She watched with wonder, but had trouble connecting to Lyorn and his cocky personality. As time went by the woman, with the name Dahea, visited Lyorn to see his magic. He realized how superficial he had been, and that he had to change if Dahea would fall in love with him too.

He invited her to dine with him under the night sky, trying his hardest to be sincere and to understand Dahea on a deep level. She noticed his efforts and they continued to meet night after night. Dahea watched him grow as a person and slowly but surely she fell in love with Lyorn.

As he had always loved big celebrations where he could show off his amazing skills as a magician, Lyorn and Dahea's wedding would be no different. The venue sat on top of a big cliff overlooking the ocean and where the sky was clearly visible. Many beings were invited and it was with excited murmurs that the pair walked together to the front of the crowd. In a grand gesture Lyorn took out a beautifully hand-crafted ring, but before he put it on Dahea's finger he threw it up into the sky. the ring started shining and it unfolded into an astronomical sphere.

There is nothing in this world that I can give her that would show my love enough. This is the next best thing. This ring was handcrafted by me and my dear friend Kaaros, and before I give it to you, Dahea, I will show you what it does."

The ring sat in the sky, the light becoming more intense. A flash, and then it sank back into Lyorns open hand. He gestured to where new stars rested on the night sky. With help from his glowing magic, a pattern showed everyone what the new stars told. A figure resembling Dahea holding a star in her hands. A new constellation was made in her honor, with help from the magical ring she was gifted. Lyorn put the ring on her finger and they kissed. The crowd cheered as fireworks exploded into a shower of lights and colors.

Historical Basis

This is an early creation-myth. It is actually one of the myths that might have left some physical evidence behind. The ring that Lyorn created has been recorded to move around through history, but only in small chunks.
