The Raven God's feather

History

Fist given to Taiel Harda after they helped the Raven God (?), 2989 S.E. Taiel heard the voice of the God when they touched the feather; if they held the feather while being reborn by the sky, the power of flight would be available to them. Taiel took inspiration from the ravens in their yard and made a life changing desicion - to jump off the town's clocktower together with the feather. Instead of hitting the ground, they went up into the sky and transformed into a dire raven. After this incident, people in the town started calling Taiel Altari, meaning born of the sky.

The feather was then inherited by Taiels children, and their children and every future line in the Altari Family. Many members of the family took the opportunity to transform, and it became known as Cloaking (see Altarian Cloaking and Pre-Crowning Ceremony.

Before, it was the oldest living member in the family who took care of the feather. After Ealdrid became queen of Darta, she took in other people to the family's business. One example is the Feather Conservator, whose work consists of taking care of the feather and leading the Cloakig ceremony.

Significance

This feather has a great significance to the Altari family, as their whole family history is because of the feather. Without the feather, they would not have their power of transformation nor their connection to the birds.
