Storms Reach District
The Storms Reach is largely regarded as the longest continuously inhabited region on the continent, with the first independent human cities having likely been established between the Twisting Hills and the border into the Sheltered Inlands region sometime before the start of the Itude Empire. With the establishment of civilization in the area, so too was the popular Dein Religion founded at the same time along the lines of prior high elven faiths. Even to the current day, the area continues to hold great political influence above what it otherwise might have due to the area being considered the official home of the church and containing most of the continent’s most holy sites and ancient structures.
This region became host to the first recorded human dominion in human history during the first era which was only defeated after the rise of the great Itude Empire during the fourth era. After the fragmentations of the human dominion, the area played host to many different independent city-states for a few decades, which would be occasionally incorporated into the empire of whatever city-state held political hegemony at the time, before ultimately being incorporated into the Itude Empire during the middle of the fourth era (1432 EoL), or which the area received much imperial attention thanks to its well-established cities and infrastructure.
After joining the Itude Empire, the area was given a duke to help rule this. This duke’s name was Brimm Horus, spurring the region into a period of migration for vampires and the settlement of nobility thanks to the dark skies the region mainly has. The area was however briefly united divided into three small regions (North Yaral, South Paclioc, and West Pirmim) after the Emperor of the Itude Empire agreed to allow Duke Horus to runs the Storms Reach all on his own while providing military and political support for the empire. While Duke Horus runs things his way, these sub-regions have largely been successful in maintaining fairly cordial relations with each other, with interstate warfare being infrequent.
The Storms Reach military has gone through many changes through its extremely long history, but as of today, it relies on formation of citizen-soldier pikemen, resurrected from an earlier era in order to first combat the Flight Academy invasions and then the heavy cavalry developed by the Sorrel Kingdom. These are primarily supported by large formations of various light infantry as well as superb light cavalry. The military, however, is overall lacking in elite heavy cavalry, as the institution of feudal knighthood never quite took off as completely as it did in most other regions of the empire. The Storms Reach also boasts access to perhaps the most elite fighting force in the empire, the Itudean Army, as well as access to a decent number of Blood Witches. These witches are focused on supposed and healing magick rather than directly offensive spell due to the prevalence of life worship in this region.

Sounds like a rather soggy place to live, though it also sounds rather beautiful. I like that they are very religious and that informs much of their culture.
