Water Mark

The Mark of the Water Fae

A Water Mark is a type of Fae Mark that can only be granted by a Water Fae. Humans Who have the Water Mark can use Water Magic, but they are also able to use other types of magic if they practise enough. This is very difficult to achieve and it's rarely seen due to the extreme amount of studying and practising it takes.
Such a nice old man. Very calm and go with the flow type of man.   Nothing like his sister, she was more like a monsoon than a calm lake, that's for sure.

Water Fae are known for being level-headed individuals whose emotion seem to change according to the water. Some are more rageful, like an open sea and some are more calm, like a tiny puddle after the rain. Many see the people Water Marked people to be the same way. Some are seen as more of a constant while others are rumoured to have quick-changing emotions. One thing most people agree on is that when a Water Marked person shifts mood, it's a reaction to something. They're not actually unpredictable if you know them.   Many of these stereotypes are not true, some fit in them just because of how they are as a person, but the mark does not make the person. There will just always be some aspects of the stereotypes that will fit because it's common traits or something completely normal for most people.
Water Magic can be used for a lot, but it is especially good for healing and also controlling water for agricultural purposes.   Water Magic can also cause a lot of damage, but many use it for the benefits that it brings rather than destruction. It is also incredibly useful for scrying.
It's hard to know the heart of someone with a Water Mark. Their emotions change just as fast as the tides can rise or fall.   Some are calm, some are not, others change between the two fast.

Magic Difficulty

The difficulty of each magic for an individual depends on the Fae Mark they carry. If you look at the Mark Circle (to the right), it's visible to see which marks are the opposite of one another and which are closer than others.   There are 3 types of mark-relationships, which translate into what magic is the easiest and hardest to use.

Mark-relationships

  1. Opposite Marks
  2. This is the mark that is on the opposite side of the circle.
The Opposite Mark of Water is Fire.
  3. Adjacent Marks
  4. These are the marks that are next to the given mark.
The Adjacent Marks of Water are Dark, Air and Spirit. Spirit counts as an Adjacent Mark for all six of the other marks.
  5. Opposite Adjacent Marks
  6. These are the marks that are next to the opposite mark.
The Opposite Adjacent Marks of Water are Earth and Light.

The Importance of Mark Relationsships
People with the Water Mark would have an easier time learning and performing spells from Dark, Air and Spirit, than Light and Earth.   It would be nearly impossible to learn spells that require Fire Magic without years and years of vigorous training.
